i actually thought last week's episode ("yum" ) was one ofthe funniest/best, but this week's doesn't suck either. i'm really enjoying this season of the X-Files and sorry to learn that Gillian Anderson is saying this is her last season on the show. imo, these last two seasons are better than the early ones.

hear ya! i had to look away more than once but it's kind of fun to (not) see Chris Carter return to his fiendishly icky cool plot lines. he's done the 'gross' thing before if i recall.

that episode sorta reminded me in part of old Twilight Zone episodes. the aging actress still living in the heyday of her starhood and the person using some kind of magic to stay young

Another bad episode by Chris Carter. IMO, the "silly" monster of the week episodes were by far the best this season. The mythology episodes were awful. If X-Files does come back, hopefully it will be without Carter.

Yes. Sadly, the mythology episodes were laughably bad. I mean, listen to the dialogues this episode. And this episode was almost literally just running after William. No story, no information, no meaningful development. I think GA made her decision when she had to try and make something out of the dialogues.

i really hope so, but this season again there was a short-lived scandal when Gillian Anderson revealed that again she was offered/paid less than David Duchovny. i can't remember whether she made them change their minds

Was it just me, or was Duchovny giving a very over-the-top performance with his dialogue this episode? He seemed to be over-doing it on purpose. I imagine that he was laying it on thick as a response to the goofiness of the script.

i'm having sad feelings to think that this really really was the end of the X-Files.
i'm going to miss Scully and Mulder. also, imo the plotline is poised to really go places. please please please Ms. Anderson come back to the show....

It just didn't feel like a series finale, more a season finale. If Anderson or FOX decides to part ways with the X-Files, I can see the X-Files coming back as a 2 hour TV movie just to wrap things up (I hope).

I don't think Chris Carter will ever wrap anything up. If he can he will just make the Cigarette Smoking Man come back from the dead for the millionth time and pretend that makes for exiting television.
