I thought The Shape of Water was just an ok and not too special movie. I liked every other Guillermo Del Toro much better, espesially Cronos, Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone. The movie reminded me a bit of Amelie (which was a much much better movie) but if you cross this movie with A Cure For Wellness you do get some really awesome Bioshock looks and vibes.

Living in a deep red state, I think some of the conservatives tune out due to the politics that are addressed at these shows. its always based on how popular the movies are in any particular year. This wasn’t a particularly exciting Oscar movie year at the movies. Last year their was buzz for for a lot of movies. This year not so much.

Now, I haven't seen the shape of water, but I am told it is a more dramatic version of the movie "Splash." On a side note I liked "Get Out", but as a movie-I find it not worthy to be nominated for best film of the year award. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
