I read some things on that. I believe it is concluded that he belongs to Marvel.

There are conflicting reports. Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios has said Universal still has it while Joe Quesada at Marvel Comics has said Marvel has it. Both should know what they're talking about.

It will be in both best interests for Marvel to have him lol

NAMOR1cover-CMYKcrop.jpg

n 2012, Marvel CCO Joe Quesada thought Namor's film rights had reverted to Marvel, but in August 2013 it was revealed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that this was not the case, and the rights remained at Universal Pictures.Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter stated in May 2014 that Marvel now has the rights for Namor. On June 3, 2014, Kit confirmed that Marvel, not Universal now has the Namor film rights. On July 18, 2014, Feige told IGN in an interview that the Namor film rights are not with Universal or Legendary Pictures, but he explained there are a number of contracts and deals that need to be sorted out. In June 2016, on the podcast Fat Man on Batman, Quesada again stated that, to his knowledge, Marvel owned the film rights to Namor.

At this rate, we'll see it next decade.

And you're right -- Namor is one of my very favorite Marvel characters. I loved the Sub-Mariner cartoon and theme song.

thumbs up! still takes me back.

For someone who grew up on Marvel Comics during the 70s, finally seeing their characters being done right on the big screen is a dream come true.

One character Marvel needs to do is Sub-Mariner. Namor was always one of my favorites...he's one of the few that can go toe-to-toe with the Hulk.

There seems to remain some confusion as to who owns the rights to Namor, Universal (wh still own Hulk) or Marvel.

Who do you think would be the best actor to play Namor?

He has a little bit of a Leonard Nimoy vibe going on but there is not a single actor I could name who even remotely resembles Namor.

That Aquaman guy looks nothing like Aquaman at all...what´s his name? Jason Momoa ?

I hope they find someone who looks at least a little bit like Namor in the comics.

Yeah, they tried to get Jason to die his hair blonde but he didn't want to

Namor is half Atlantian(Atlantis) which tends to be 'Mediterranean' sometime with strong Italian looks or Greek

Christopher Meloni has his look

Black Panther had his own animated series that aired on BET in 2011, but I don't recommend it. It was based on an excellent run from the comics but the cheap "animation" sucked. It was more of a "motion comic" than a cartoon. It's available on DVD.

If anyone's interested, the entire series is available on Marvel's youtube:

I had to be honest. As embarrassing as it may be to say, I've literally gotten turned on watching Marvel movies, it kind of took me by surprise really because that just doesn't happen, ever. I've mentioned here before, looking at Cheadle, my brain just shutoff for just a second or two, and went primal. The fact that it keeps happening in different movies tells me they figured something out. Kind of annoying when you think about. I mean aren't women supposed to be turned on by what turns on men?

Girl, I could watch Thor recite the alphabet....he is soo cute. biggrin

There were so many in Black Panther it ain't even funny. M'Baku was sumthin else. He could bark at me any day! lol

That part.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

If you loved this movie but have not seen Capt America Marvel Civil War, you must.
That is where the backstory of his father dying and the introduction of Black Panther starts.
And it is a GREAT movie. I cannot wait to see him in the next Marvel Avengers slot as a full on Super Hero

Seen it 5 times in theaters. Next Black Panther appearance is April 27 Infinity Wars. M'Baku and Gen Okoye return along with his sister.

Infinity Wars is a two part Avenger movie. Then Black Panther sequel follows.

Angela Basset's character should have popped somebody. Had a, I was pretty badass in my day too, moment.

I thought she sooo looked like Marvel hero Storm

You would think she would know how to fight

Omg I thought the same exact thing when I first saw Angela Basset in that scene. She did look like she could be an older version of storm. She’s gorgeous and she’s aging beautifully.

I’ve never been a fan of Marvel or comics in general, don’t generally watch superhero movies or know the characters and don’t particularly enjoy them when I do (not since I was a kid watching Reeves as Superman anyway)

But wifey wanted to see this so we took my 9 year old nephew yesterday and went to see it. I knew nothing of the film other that it had a Black hero and mainly black cast but nothing about the story line or Wakanda etc.

Anyway. I flippin loved this movie. It was visually stunning, uplifting and some great humour too.
