Here's something I don't get. The Atkins diet is based upon the idea that carbohydrates are bad, right? Yet when I ran track in high school, we were told that complex (as opposed to simple) carbohydrates were good (because they provide energy), and accordingly, I'd eat a light meal high in complex carbs on days when I was going to compete in a track meet.

Fortunately, since I'm 5'8" and about 125 pounds, I don't have to worry about losing weight.
