Can you really tell the difference when using a 4K player? So a few weeks ago I bought my first 4K UHD TV.The picture is outstanding when using bluray. So i went to walmart and thought I bought a 4K bluray disc player but it turns out i bought a 4K Bluray "upscaling player" which means it does not play 4k discs but makes bluray and dvd discs look good on a 4ktv. So to those of you who own a 4k player,is there really a noticable difference from a regular bluray player?

Yes, but it depends on the movie. For example, I've got Batman Begins on 4k blu ray and while it does look better than regular blu ray, there's just not THAT much of a difference. However, Mad Max Fury Road looks amazing in 4k, as do Star Wars Rogue One and The Force Awakens. Newer movies will give you more of a difference. If you're considering getting a 4K player then I'd recommend you get the Xbox One X. It's got a 4k player built in and it's no more expensive than any other good 4k player on the market. The only difference is that you can also play games on it if you want but even if you use it exclusively for 4k blu rays, it's still the best option on the market.

I have an xBox One X and a 4K TV with an HDMI 2.0 cable (for signals up to 10K) to transfer the 4K signals which is essential... The first thing I did was compare the "Man Of Steel" 4K HDR bluray with the standard bluray and the difference was like day and night... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

I've got a 55" 4K Samsung ... the only 4K stuff I've seen running on it are the 4K Netflix shows. The picture is stunning but I don't notice alot of difference between it and a decent blu-ray running off my PS3 ... certainly not enough to go out and purchase a 4K player and to start upgrading my fave films for the millionth time!
