From Saturday until Tuesday Thai people were celebrating Songkhran, which is the Thai New Year festival. This basically involves throwing water at anybody and everybody, including police officers. That's all u have to do, throw water at each other. U can't say no, and u can't get upset.

Trouble is, over the course of the four days there were nearly 550 deaths on the roads resulting from Songkhran. Most of these deaths were those of motorcyclists being drunk, or falling off their bikes when splashed from the side by people in passing pick-up trucks.

Is there no end to the madness in this country???

About 120 of those that died were under 15 years old.

I love this country but sometimes I just can't believe the stupidity, especially on the roads.
