Glad people finally mentioned Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland. Disappointing that nobody has mentioned this classic yet, though:
"Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge"" ~ Isaac Asimov
^That looks wild but the sequel sounds absolutely INSANE!
Both great! In the first one, although they’re referred to as zombies they actually behave like draugr, which gives it another layer of interest/complexity.

both of them are streaming on shudder. i've glanced at them a good number of times, but never quite felt motivated to take the plunge.
i'm free this afternoon, & it's too cold for a jog, so i'll give them a shot now.

Is shudder worthwhile? I’ve been swithering about signing up.

i personally am very happy with shudder. i think they've done a pretty good job of providing novel, interesting content, not just obvious things. i've found neat little oddities like 'belladonna of sadness,' a good cross-section of korean & japanese stuff, fun little indie things like 'the editor' & 'manborg.' i wish the catalogue was larger, but you can only expect so much for $50/yr, i suppose.
content varies by region as well, of course, so i can't comment on what you'd be able to access in your country.

Cool, cheers.

For anyone that hasn't seen it, here is the the terrific scene where they zombies attack the pub to the sounds of Don't Stop Me Now by Queen on the jukebox. Warning - there is a little NSFW language at the end. And some zobie violence too, naturally.
I remember an earlier scene when a zombie creeps up in the backyard of Shaun's house, and they forage through the garage for some weapons to kill the zombie but they could only find a stack of old vinyl records. Shaun's friend says they can chop off the zombie's head by hurling the record at its head like a frisbee. But the first vinyl record they pull out is Purple Rain, and Shaun freaks out. "Hell no! You can't use that reecord. It's a classic! Why don't we find some Coldplay record instead?"

Ed: 'Purple Rain'? Shaun: No. Ed: 'Sign o' the Times'? Shaun: Definitely not. Ed: The 'Batman' soundtrack? Shaun: Throw it.
