The Commuter, in which Liam Neeson apparently kills everyone on a commuter train. Can't miss!

The Widows, in which some robbers all die before the big job, and their widows decide to pull it off.

A Quiet Place, in which Jim from "The Office" and his family live somewhere that has monsters who will eat them if they make any noise.

And of course, anything starring Arnold or Stallone. Or Arnold AND Stallone.

I think that I'm going to take a leave of absence from work for most of 2018 so that I can watch all the great movies coming out.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are always my most anticipated, but never the best of the year. Those are almost always some indie/foreign things that sneak up on me.

That reminds me, my first highly anticipated film this year is Black Panther.

We always have to wait to see what shakes out of Sundance and the other fests in the winter and spring to determine what indies and foreign films will capture our attention and Oscar love in the late summer throught the fall.

agreed. i'll certainly check out many of the big, gargantuan movies, but it's the small surprises that work their way to the surface that i look forward to the most.

that said, i genuinely cannot wait for paddington 2. the first one was totally charming, a huge favourite of mine, and everything i hear says the sequel is just as great if not better. opens next weekend i believe, and this is the rare time i will tolerate opening weekend crowds.

i'm also interested in annihilation, the upcoming film from alex garland of ex machina fame.

I will add one more to my list after watching The Golden Globes.......I, Tonya (2018) I remember this story back in 94 and the trailer looks amazing.....its gonna be released in Australia on 25 Jan so techincally its a 2018 release.

Recent reports have it that the Coen Brothers are re-working the Scarface script, so don't be surprised if it gets pushed to 2019.

I'm with you though, given the cast and the Coens' involvement, I'd love to see it drop this year.
