Your most anticipated movies of 2018?

Right now these are the only ones I'm planning on paying to see in a theater. 4 and 7 I won't see until rental if they get a limited release only.

01. A Star is Born
02. Mary Poppins Returns
03. Solo: A Star Wars Story
04. Red Sparrow
05. The Incredibles 2
06. A Wrinkle in Time
07. Love, Simon
08. Ocean's 8
09. The Purge 3
10. Fantastic Beasts 2

11. Wreck-It Ralph 2

The Commuter, in which Liam Neeson apparently kills everyone on a commuter train. Can't miss!

The Widows, in which some robbers all die before the big job, and their widows decide to pull it off.

A Quiet Place, in which Jim from "The Office" and his family live somewhere that has monsters who will eat them if they make any noise.

And of course, anything starring Arnold or Stallone. Or Arnold AND Stallone.

.

I think that I'm going to take a leave of absence from work for most of 2018 so that I can watch all the great movies coming out.

The movie I'm most looking forward to this year is The Avengers Infinity War. I'm not expecting it to be the best movie of the year, but it's the one I'm most looking forward to seeing.

I'm also really looking forward to The Incredibles 2 and the Han Solo movie.

I was going to say Martin Scorcese's The Irishman, featuring De Niro, Pecsi, and Pacino, but it's not dropping until 2019.

Mary Magdalene piques my interest, with Rooney Mara in the title role.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are always my most anticipated, but never the best of the year. Those are almost always some indie/foreign things that sneak up on me.

That reminds me, my first highly anticipated film this year is Black Panther.

We always have to wait to see what shakes out of Sundance and the other fests in the winter and spring to determine what indies and foreign films will capture our attention and Oscar love in the late summer throught the fall.

A few more movies I'm looking forward to this year:

Ready Player One. The book is pretty good but it's generally the kind of thing that makes for an awful movie but with Spielberg at the helm, it should be good. Hopefully.

Jurassic World 2. To be honest, I don't have high hopes for this but I felt the same about the previous one and I ended up really liking it. Besides, Jeff Goldblum is back so that's a reason to see it.

Isle of Dogs. The new Wes Anderson movie. Looks similar to the Fantastic Mr. Fox, which I loved.

Alita Battle Angel. The movie James Cameron has been threatening to make for years is now being directed by Robert Rodriguez with Cameron on as producer. Could go either way and I'm sure it will flop at the box office but I'm hopeful it will be a good movie, regardless of its inevitable failure.

Creed 2. I love all the Rocky movies (apart from V) so I've no reason to think I won't love this. Plus, Dolph Lundgren is back as Ivan Drago so it can't be bad. Although if Rocky dies, and I think he will, then I'll be very upset.

agreed. i'll certainly check out many of the big, gargantuan movies, but it's the small surprises that work their way to the surface that i look forward to the most.

that said, i genuinely cannot wait for paddington 2. the first one was totally charming, a huge favourite of mine, and everything i hear says the sequel is just as great if not better. opens next weekend i believe, and this is the rare time i will tolerate opening weekend crowds.

i'm also interested in annihilation, the upcoming film from alex garland of ex machina fame.

Definitely Deadpool 2,the new "Predator" film,Scarface remake, and I'm mostly excited for the new "Halloween" movie. This will be the last time Jamie Lee Curtis will be in a Halloween movie.
Also, in December the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" comes out.finally a story of Freddie Mercury on the big screen.it comes out Christmas day!

Recent reports have it that the Coen Brothers are re-working the Scarface script, so don't be surprised if it gets pushed to 2019.

I'm with you though, given the cast and the Coens' involvement, I'd love to see it drop this year.
