Hey all. I made a thread a little while back about my new girlfriend, who had a problem with eating her boogers and snot. While most of the advice you all gave was more rooted in comedy, some of you actually gave me some good pointers about my situation. So, here's what happened:



The idea of confronting her was always on my mind, and some of you suggested that I do so. I even decided to tape her doing it a few times from over my shoulder, which was were she would often do it.


One random day a couple weeks ago, we were just playing around at home, and I randomly brought up seeing her eating her boogers. She laughed hysterically and asked me what I was talking about. I told her that I have seen her do it multiple times, and she completely denied doing such a thing. The situation then became serious and I showed her the videos I recorded on my phone of her eating her boogers. She became extremely angry, slapped me, and stormed out of the house.


I called her dozens of times and she never answered me. I contacted her mum to see if she had spoken to her, and her mum said she was at her house. I was happy to know that she was safe, so I gave her some space. She came home 4 days after that, and we had a talk. She basically told me I was wrong for filming her without her permission, and that she could no longer trust me. I tried to tell her that I really had no idea how to approach her about it, and that I meant no harm. I even tried to tell her that I just didn't want her to think that she had to hide anything from me. She was not having it. She moved out, and now, I am back to square one.


Now...I'm not sure how I should feel. If this type of situation was all it took for her to leave me, how deep was our love? Or...was I truly wrong for taping her behind her back?


How seriously should I have taken this situation in the first place?? Was it THAT big of a deal?

Sorry - I'm with your girlfriend. It was too much to film her, I genuinely can't understand why you did that. If you loved her as much as you say you did then it shouldn't have been a big deal, everyone has their faults.

Either way, it has happened. Live and learn from it.

I think you're fine. Truth is the truth. Reality is reality. Denying it is crazy! If she had had a measured, controlled reaction I'd say, well whatever. But she showed her craziness. No one needs crazy.

I never understood the term "Unreasonable behaviour" when citing a couple splitting up.

If you can't just say to your other-half..."please stop eating boogers as it is very offputting" without some sort of fear...then this is not a healthy relationship

Filming her do it surreptitiously is both fucking superb and twisted...

And then playing her the evidence - loving it Counsellor!

Her moving out is a tad toys out of pram - if everything else was solid in the relationship.

Seems like alot of drama over nothing.

Next girl you settle with - just be honest and upfront...

You know, now that you say it, filming her was kinda brave. Considering that she'd lose it if he just straight out asked her to stop eating boogers.

I cried a lot when things first happened, but I find it funny now myself. You're right about the drama. Her reaction was so ridiculous that I was stunned. Still am in many ways. If she had just admitted to it when I brought it up, I never would have shown her the footage I had either. I would have deleted it. Lesson learned here.

This story is hysterical. She denies that she does it and you show her the footage? That's awesome.

People who are saying you should never film without permission are people who don't pick their nose and eat it. In general, it's best not to film people but we're all being recorded by something, somewhere.

I'm with honesty and nipping it immediately when it happens. The first time it happens, call that shit out! We all have weird little things we do but we all have a limit, know yours.

The fact that she filmed your genitals is really bizarre, you wonder what she was doing while you were sleeping. If you continue with this line of dating, I'd suggest you get a nanny cam or something. I'd be a little freaked out / damaged by this experience.

To be honest, most people would have just laughed about all of this if they were just balanced human beings. There's a lot of worse things you could have been doing or acting like. Perspective.

Base your next relationship on getting along as people on some kind of mental connection. From there you can then figure out what kind of crazy you're dealing with as well as identify your own crazy. We all are, it's just how much you want to deal with and how much they are willing to deal with.

What's interesting to me is that someone(besides a kid, or an adult with special needs) would feel the need to eat their boogers. That is something i do not understand.

However, it probably wouldn't have been a deal breaker. Her denying it though? Now that would be about a 99% deal breaker. Her denying it tells me that she is dishonest. And who wants to be with a dishonest person?



As far as you filming her? Personally i don't have a problem with it. Of course its unfortunate that it got to that point. But meh. Out of the whole situation, my thinking is that what you did was the least craziest action out of the four things that you mentioned(her booger eating, you filming it, her lying when confronted with proof, and then her filming your anus and posting the video on the net).




Anyway, as you said. You dodged a bullet.

Much as we can smile at this story, you have a point. If this was the other way round and gunner (or any other male) had taken photos of the girl naked whilst she slept and then posted them online, and it was the girl posting here, I would be saying to go to the police. Now maybe gunner is proud of his junk and doesn't mind too much but we shouldn't take it less seriously because he is male and that it was done in retaliation for filming her unawares (imagine explaining all this to the cops ).

I believe she filmed me after the situation, because I've recently drank myself to sleep some nights out of sadness and depression (she also still had the house keys. I had all of the locks changed today). I mainly sleep in the nude, so it would not have been hard for her to film me at those times. She didn't record my face in the video she shared, but the tattoo I have on my back was there, and our friends and family know I have that tattoo. I have no desire to bring police into the situation. I just want everything to be over and done with.

You're right! While I'm not terribly upset that she filmed my genitals (I am not ashamed of my body), I am very upset that our family and friends saw them. I am also really creeped out as to how and why she would do so. I didn't share any of the videos I had of her. I only showed her, and only planned on showing her. But, maybe she found what I did to be creepy too, so I guess it's fair game to her?

Either way, I've learned a lot throughout this whole ordeal. Even discovered a stash of "nose remnants" stuck under the bed frame on her side of the bed. I had to use soap, hot water, and a paint scraper to get them off. She really has a problem.

LOL on your describtion of cleaning her old side of the bed frame. By her having such a stash--not that you might've noticed it earlier on, but simply through the existance of those extrusive deposits on your furniture--how could she possibly have had the nerve to deny her compulsion?
