Many years ago, I went with an ex-boyfriend to get his nipple pierced. In short, it looked horrific to me who was watching and he said it was incredibly painful to get done but less than two minutes later he was absolutely fine and very proud of it. If you really want it done, go for it.

There is pain, but everyone has a different tolerance or threshold for pain.

The nipple is the same tissue as the penis and clitoris are made from. It's referred to as erectile tissue. It's why our nips get hard but other parts of us don't (other than genitals). So the sensation is going to be different for the piercing, before and after. However, you are sort of already in the pain zone because they are going to clamp your nipple before they piercing it. I would suggest not having any rough sex the day or two before.

every individual is different...asking folks on this site is a Smart move..Some claim it takes 6-months to 12-months for the healing process...If there is an infection then it could take 1yr or more....

Based on what I've read the Nipples are tricky and you have to ask yourself if you can deal with long term pain..Only YOU know your pain tolerance level...Definitely weigh the Pros/Cons...

I got my nips pierced about 9 years ago. There is pain, but it was SOOO quick and faded fast. I barely remember it now. I definitely felt the second nipple more intensely, since I knew what to expect, ya know? But it still wasn't bad. I didn't cry (and I'm a crier )and I remember I put on my bra and went to the bookstore or something right after, and had a normal day...

No excessive bleeding or anything, but there was a little swelling. Healing was simple: washing with antibacterial soap and daily saline soaks for a few months and no kinky play until they are healed. I think they made my nipples more sensitive (in a good way), but more importantly, made me feel sexier. Now I don't recognized my boobs when I take them out , but I'm also one of those people that hates not having earrings/ rings on too.

I say, if you wanna do it, go for it! There is tenderness for while, but the "pain", honestly did not last beyond the first hour after it was done (for me). I've felt more sincere long lasting pain from a pair of ill fitting shoes.

Do your research on straight vs. curved piercings.

Straight is preferred for healing, less scar tissue, later nipple deformity around the piercing (migrating piercings) etc.

Yes the piercings will catch and pull often, and it hurts.

Don't plan on changing the piercing jewelry much.

You're pulling unsterilized screw apparatus through internal raw meat, not good.

Be sober when getting the piercing(s).

Getting pierced hurts.

No its not the same as genitals.

Some people have tethered/inverted nipples or other factors. Doesn't mean you can't get a piercing, but its not necessarily like genitals.

Know who is doing it, their work, and their hygiene practices.

Yes, you can breastfeed after. Piercings may not close even after many years of not wearing jewelry though.

Piercings may feel like you've run hardware through a nerve for as long as you have the piercing in; not a good kind of hypersensitivity.

If you have a serious infection, go to a doctor.

Piercings are better than tattoos and other body modifications though, less commitment.

It hurts.

All piercings hurt.

Nipple piercings can be one of the more painful.

That being said, everyone is different and it's more painful for some people than others.

It hurts.

Piercing... is that still a thing? I didnt notice in my parish anyone who has one...

all jokes aside, make sure they're level!

My first wife had hers done and one of them was just a little off and it bothered her so much she took them out,

I knew someone who had both done, and they had to have surgery some years later to get one nipple repositioned

Yep. I have 7 piercing holes, and did six of em myself( don't really wear piercings anymore, though). Except for the top earlobe, the ones on the ear didn't hurt much (4 on the left, one on the right), but the one on the left side of the nose hurt like a MFer...It hurt bad...real bad...The eyebrow one hurt as well...but not like the nose.



As for the OP...Don't do it !!! Its the worst pain ever !!

Seriously though, i know that it was stated that its OK to have nipple piercings, but if i was a woman i would still be a little concerned. Mainly in relation to breast feeding, etc.
