where would it be, and why?

Somewhere similar or a tadbit cooler weather of where I already live, where I could see the ocean everyday, and no congestion and better bus routes or everything is in walking distance. And I won't get pretty much eaten alive by insects.

Where I live now, pretty much has those things except the congestion is getting staggering and it's building every year, I don't see growing old here pleasant unless you are very well off financially and even then it's questionable because the cost of living is nutz.

Well, it wouldn't be just one place. It would be something like this:

December - February - Angel Fire, New Mexico. I love to ski

March - Houston, TX. Gotta be here for the rodeo!

April - June - Somewhere in Europe. Start with Switzerland, then rotate among great cities like Paris, Barcelona, Munich, Vienna and London

July - September - Back to Angel Fire, NM. So pretty in the summer!

October - November - Oxford, MS. Ole Miss football season, can't be beat!

Near the equator. Constant warmth, a place where wearing shoes would be as odd as putting on a parka. Or the Maldives.

I mean theoretically, you can do that no matter where you live, but yeah - shorter commute. I just need a little secure place, an outdoor shower, friendly locals, natural food, a little work during the tourist season, and some sex in the forest. haha

That describes the Ambergris Caye in Belize. I haven't been there in 25 years but it was EXACTLY what you described. I really want to go back!

The biggest developer in Houston, and one of the biggest in the world, is a guy named Gerald Hines. I heard him speak about urban planning one time and he said the greatest city in the world is London. I've never been there but I'm sure Hines knows what he's talking about.

Problem is... there isn't such place on Earth.
I hate cold, I love water, i hate violence and strict laws or bureaucracy, i hate poisenous or disease-bearing animals, i love liberal atmosphere, i dont like too high prices, I love good kitchen, i totally hate rain and winds, and like where people are friendly and there is a rich culture.

Impossible combination.

There are a few 'as good as it gets' places, but nothing to take me away from my current place (which has all of the above, besides the most important two things: water and all-year round warm weather)

London indeed fits this picture very well. I love London, but it's a bit smallish to me and again no water or all-year round warm climate.
