I enjoyed Rogue One. I think that is wasn't a 'continuation' movie like TFA was I was able to not compare it. It's just that the lead character was so bland. I mean did she ever have any other facial expressions than the one on the dvd cover? . And the characters over all, just did not endear me to them, outside of the droid. The samurai taking out storm troopers with a sword, not even a vibroblade just didn't get me. . But it was an enjoyable movie, that I didn't find fault with over all. I love the Art of ___ movie books and I was given a gift card for Christmas in 2016 because the person did not buy it for me as a gift. And I remember just looking at the Art of Rogue One, over and over and it was just so boring. I even saw it in a sale bin at Marshalls for $15 and just did not care to put the money into it. There was nothing there as far as intrigue and background.

Now there is the Darth Plagueis novel, which I love, but that is not considered canon anymore. We only have Palpatine talking about the story of darth plagueis the wise in Revenge of the Sith. In the novel Sidious clearly kills Plagueis.
But Plagueis was also working on ways to harness his life force into another body. But I don't think he succeeded. And Palpatine, knew of Plagueis' work spaces.

the Solo trailer may be on "Good Morning America" Monday. Some are saying the Super Bowl but I am thinking maybe not. GMA is owned by Disney so I am going with that. [Edited 2/2/18 11:52am] "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

It is funny how I can fall into the fantasy of the 'fan' art, even if the movie doesn't move me the same

I just saw it today (free passes too!). I loved every bit of it. The opening sequence with Po "calling" for Hux and waiting on hold - hysterical. There was a lot of comedy in it, but pretty much standard for a Star Wars film.
Skywalker telling Ben Solo he failed him is kind of a double meaning because Luke may feel like he failed at being the best friend he could (youthful ignorance) with Ben Kenobi.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Estimates show TLJ grossed $600M, down 33% from TFA but IIRC, Empire made only half of what A New Hope made. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Yeah, I was tracking TLJ against TFA and it was at about 71% now it is down to 67%. I expect it to end up with between 625 and 630 Million which will put it in 5th place of all time domestic.
Early on it looked like it would end up at #3 ($665ish) but it has slipped off more that TFA had. (I for one saw TLJ once--buying 4 tickets. When I saw TFA 4 times buying 8 total and RO twice (6 tickets).
