Testament - 1983 film about a-bombs being dropped on the US, nuclear war and so on - centers on a woman trying to survive with her kids.

Absolutely horrifying and incredibly sad, but I think everyone should see it. Definitely gives you perspective, esp. these days...

Ummm... sorta! It has Natasha Leone, RuPaul, and Rufio (from Hook, lol) and deals with homosexuality/heterosexuality in a really funny way. You would enjoy it chops!!

"drugstore cowboy"
"requiem for a dream"
"snuff" (just kidding this is actually a third rate brazilian slasher film that was so crappy it was unreleasable in its original form, title "slaughter". However it did start the long standing debate on whether snuff films actually exist, mainly because of sensationalist cheap publicity and an incredibly gruesome tacked on ending.)

it is pretty painful, especially if you can see a lot of the people that you grew up around in your town in these characters biggrin

gotta be in the right frame of mind. and preferably with someone who has a sick sense of humor. it's much more enjoyable that way biggrin

I wouldn't say the second one is shit, its had a lower budget, no discipline, a thousand times more pulp, but is more intense colorful and funny/perverse than the more mannered first.

Had to get that dvd...it's an intellectual thriller...I guess that speaks for the folks that have supported it...or society...evillol

'A Thousand Acres' is a good film, underrated, and doesn't get much talk.

It also starred one of my very favorite actresses, Michelle Pfeiffer.
