Bodies of infant & woman found in SF Bay... CONFIRMED to be Laci Peterson & her baby

http://story.news.yahoo.c...dies_found

They're still doing the autopsy. Nobody is ready to say it's Laci Peterson yet, I'm hoping it's not but it looks so grim & would be an AMAZING coincidence if it's not her & her unborn baby. My friend said he heard the adult body had been beheaded but I haven't seen anything official on that. disbelief The body of the baby (full term, don't know why they keep referring to it as a "fetus") was found about a mile from the woman's body, umbilical cord still attached. disbelief They've suspected the husband all along but he's never been listed as an official suspect. This is really tearing me up y'all. IF Laci was murdered (& it seems like she was) HOW could anyone live w/ themselves after doing such an unthinkable thing? If it was the husband, how do you just take the lives of your WIFE & UNBORN CHILD in exchange for deceit & money (he'd recently taken out the good ol' insurance policy on Laci)?

I feel so fucking sad right now. Life is SO cheap to some people. The fact that someone's mother/daughter/sister/friend could be disposed of like waste, washing up onshore months later like a piece of garbage. She had a life, her life meant something. Her child could have had a life, it would have meant something. Why are people so arrogant? Why would anyone feel they had the right to take something so precious away from anyone in this world? Maybe this is overly dramatic in light of lives taken every single day, especially in a time of war, but this really has a grip on me tonight... cry

***

JUST ANNOUNCED... DNA testing proves it is Laci & her baby. They arrested the husband today... disbelief sad

How sickening and utterly heartbreaking to know that her life and that of her unborn child was taken without any respect for human life. Her child never being given the chance to grow and become an adult. May they R.I.P.

Crimes of this horrific nature will continue to happen because there is NO FEAR...there is no fear because there is NO JUSTICE...there is no justice because killers (or commiters of such crimes) can GET OFF for a few dollars more than the average joe. When there is no death penalty (rehabilitation? right!), there is no fear. It's a vicious cycle.

Sad, but true.

God bless all the babies and Laci...my prayers are with the family.

I thought about this all night! The thought of another human beings life ending this way is just so cruel..

And I guess if this is Lacy, then she has her very own angel in heaven...

It just seems to me that there should be some shred of evidence to connect the person who did this to the crime... somewhere... sad

Regardless of whether this is Laci Peterson or not, I'm sickened by the nature of this crime. I'm disgusted that anyone could do this to another human being, much less to their wife and child (if it is Peterson, and if the husband did it).

And no, Calhoun, you are not being overly dramatic. Lives lost in war are sad, but at least with those there is some sort of reason for it. The senslessness of this type of crime is so terrible, and you just have to feel for all of the people who love her. I'm highly disturbed by all of this myself. Say a prayer for the family of whoever this victim is, and say a prayer that justice will be served.

oh man! I hate this whole story! When she first went missing I was like "it was the husband" I just felt he was not sad enough...ya know? but then there were some reports awhile back that someone had seen her in a store somewhere...she had supposedly told a store cashier that she had been kidnapped and the cashier forgot about it and didn't report it till weeks (days?) later. I don't know if that story was ever found to be true or false, but that got me thinking that it could have been some sicko woman or couple who desperately wanted a child and kidnapped her to steal her baby from her (didn't that happen b4?) now with this latest development...if they find it is her...I'm thinking that just might be what happened!
SICK SICK SICK!! mfers!
god bless Laci and child
god bless that lady and child if it is not them. sad

Yeah I have been following this story from the beginning and it didn't seem like it would turn out to positive beings she was pregnant and all. The strange thing I just read on CNN.COM is that the babys body was found 1 1/4 miles north of the females body...I wonder if she was kidnapped or if the husband had anything to do with it. He was fishing during her disappearance in the Marina two miles from the where this body was found.

not really. i see this as a local story. this shit happens every day all over the country. why is this one special?

i know why... because it got hyped by the same newspaper that whipped the country into a frenzy over Gary Condit 2 years ago.

all i'm saying is that i just don't see why it was a huge national story, leading newscasts, and interrupting the regular newsday on the cable networks with "important" breaking news updates that really weren't newsworthy at all.

maybe not, but women and children go missing in this country every day, but they aren't splashed across the national media like this story was. a few are, curiously, and most aren't.

so it sounds like you're saying that none of these kinds of stories should get ANY coverage? Cause they are not news worthy? strange...strange indeed!
Personally I think the ones that seem the most sinister get the most coverage. Like this one for instance...it's not just a woman, it's a pregnant woman, and she wasn't just pregnant she was nearly due, and she didn't just disappear she disappeared on Christmas eve...see what I mean?
I wish all missing persons cases got this much coverage, but at least some do. shrug

Aaron makes a good point though, why is she chosen to get so much exposure? Is she wealthy? And more pregnant women come up missing alot more than you know.

C'MON PAIS...
WHY SHOULD WE DO THAT.
SHOULD WE PRAY THAT IT'S SOMEONE ELSES SISTER, MOTHER, DAUGHTER WHO DOESN'T KNOW THAT THAT PERSON IS EVEN MISSING YET???
MAYBE SOME HOMELESS HOOKER WHO 'HAD IT COMMIN TO HER'
SOME BABY THAT WOULD OF BEEN POVERTY STRICKEN FOR LIFE.
ONE MORE THAT DON'T HAVE TO COLLECT WELFARE???

THINK IT THROUGH BEFORE YOU WRITE IT BABY!!!

I think more stories like this should get national coverage. As I see it, if a kidnapper takes someone across the country, there is no way people will be looking for them unless the story gets national coverage.
