Why don't we take lunchboxes to work as adults?

So, at work today I saw three people eat in. One had a brown bag, one had a plastic grocery bag, and one had a tupperware plate...

Why can't you carry a lunchbox to work as adults? It worked perfectly as a kid, thermos with hot or cold beverage, soup or spaghettios, along with a sandwich, chips, fruit, all in it's proper place.

Instead of cartoons on the boxes, why not, CSI, Sopranos, Friends, Bernie Mac, Anna Nichole or Survivor

corporate logos like Apple, McDonalds, Coke, Ebay

or customize your box, to promote your website, your business, your boot collection etc.

why oh why has this been taken away?

This is a very good idea.

Imagine stylish steel lunchboxes as signs of dignity.

The only problem would be how to produce cool sandwiches...

when i was still working in corporate land, i used to bring my charlie's angels lunch box. it's powder blue with a color pic of the girls (including farrah) on it.

it was more stylish than the plastic bag everyone else had, plus it made it harder for them to steal my lunch...

i thought for sure I would find one on ebay, but all I found was a thermos that was probably from a lunchbox. I bet one would eventually find the lunchbox if one were to keep looking.

But in reply to this thread I am planning on buying a Milwaukee Brewers lunchbox I saw on ebay.

When I bring a lunch to work, I have a cute Peanuts lunchbox I use. It's tin and shaped like the old style construction-worker ones but opens on the side like a mailbox. I love my lunch box. I bought it specifically to encourage myself to bring my own lunch more often.

I have a metal Thermos Superman lunchbox with thermos, a vintage Thermos metal lunchbox that looks like a barn with animals (super old, from the 1950s!), and a plastic Pee-Wee's Playhouse Thermos lunchbox that I got off of eBay.

So not embarrassed to use them!

From John Mayer's excellent song '83':
"whatever happened to my lunchbox
when came the day that it got
thrown away and don't you think I should
have had some say in that decision?"

smile

I still carry a lunchbox sometimes. I have a mini Mickey Mouse one that is just big enough for a sammich or a little snack, a full-size Garfeild one, and a little wicker one.
