My Apple Watch Series 3 cellular review Well, I held off on the Apple Watch as I felt the original was a crowd sourced beta test. And it was a great way to get it out in the wild and get the kinks out of it while they worked out the technology needed for it. So I finally bit, and so far almost 2 weeks in, I gotta say I love this little device. I think this is the first Apple Watch worth getting. I use it mostly at work and to track my pulse why I sleep and the battery life is surprisingly great. I get 2 days easily on it. Granted, I’m not making a lot of phone calls with it or using it for navigation or anything crazy like that. But having Siri and notifications on your wrist is amazing. Certainly this device isn’t for everyone. If you can sit in front of a screen all day at work and pull out your phone any time you want, then this isn’t for you. I stand a lot and work in a large facility sometimes driving a golf cart to get around and it’s a godsend. Great anyone who doesn’t sit in a cubicle all day in front of a screen, or anyone who leads an active lifestyle, I highly recommend it. And for those thinking they could save some money and buy an older model instead..., don’t chase good money after bad. Get te series 3, ir wait until next year when the series is discounted because of a newer model. Under no circumstances should you buy an older model no matter how tempting. Get the series 3 or nothing at all.

I don't wear a watch anymore. I go by my phone clock.

I'm an Apple guy. iPhone SE, Macbook Air, iPad Air 2, etc. But I've yet to figure out how or why I would need the Apple watch. It's a very, very expensive fashion accessory. I'd rather spend $500+ on a new Le Creuset pot or bills. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Well, I’m just going to say it again. It’s for active people. Not for cubicle or stay at home folks. And I’m going to say that most of you will eat your words at own in the not to distant future. It will become as ubiquitous or more, than an iPhone.

I am a little jealous but I also do not get why someone would pay $1000 (iPhone 8 and a series 3 watch) or more for a phone? "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

I'm definitely team Apple. I bought the Apple Watch Series 2 in the spring and love it. It's what encouraged me to step up my work out activity. I have to say that it is worlds away better than the Fitbit (which kept falling apart on me...it's a cheaply made, overpriced device). I also love the fact that notifications pop up on the watch, as well as text messages, phone calls, calendar appointments, etc. It's really handy and saves me a lot of time for my busy schedule. I did buy it during a Mother's Day sale so I feel like I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of it. Now would I upgrade to a Series 3? Not a chance....I actually don't feel like I need to, to be honest. I also have a Macbook and the iPhone 6 plus and all three devices talk to each other in some way...it's pretty neat. I still haven't decided if I'm going to upgrade my iPhone or not yet. If I do, it'll be sometime next year. I've never felt the need to buy an iPad....just seems like a huge version of the iPhone to me. [Edited 10/16/17 17:27pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

so I am now thinking of getting one as a gift. It is for a heavyish woman that is active. Currently, has an iPhone 7 and a Garmin watch something with a separate chest strap monitor. I assume the ones with cellular would be a separate phone number but the non-cellular would use blue tooth?

The 2 Series should work fine. She'll see when someone calls her on her watch and as you stated, she'll be able to answer if she has the bluetooth headbuds (or something similar). I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It uses the same phone number as your phone. So if you forget your phone at home you’ll still receive calls. I got a flat tire this weekend on the freeway early in the morning, and AAA said it would be 45 minuets so I decided to change the tire and get class from AAA with updates and others worried about me as I busily changes the tire. It’s opened my eyes to a high pulse rate throughout the day. It’s really a great device and it’s only going to get better over the years. I wouldn’t recommend anyone spend their good money on the older model. This is the first truly functional non beta Apple Apple Watch.

Why would someone need to check their pulse rate multiple times a day... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
