I wasn't very sexually active in my 20s; hell I was a virgin until I was 22. By the time I was 30 I had only had maybe five partners. I came out unscathed. In my 30s and 40s, I played catch up and had over twelve times as many partners. I still never even caught a cold. That was pure dumb luck. In my 40s, I've been way more careful and know who I sleep with, and still play safe. I'll be 50 in March, and to be in what is considered a high-risk category I've come out with no problems. Knock on wood. I keep condoms on-hand and ain't afraid to pull one out for the moment.

ya, so i don't know how they even do their statistics, i've heard that most people carry it, i don't know. I've never had anything that i know of and i haven't always been as careful as i should be, the sex drive can kill you in several different ways, and i'm not just talking physically. men get destroyed in the courts today, thenyou have others who are rapists, then you have the henpecked men who are common today, i've known all three categories in my life, i would have never suspected that it could happen to any of them, the rapist i knew, shit, i never could have imagined him doing something like that. Rape is different though, they say that's more about power, but knowing the guy, i'd have to say also, that something must have went terribly wrong with his mother, i believe lots of domestic/sexual violence by men is from have something wrong in the mother/son relationship, i don't think that's a reach.
