One of the most intense baseball games I've seen in a looong time. Poor Nats...just cant get out of their own way. Misplayed balls, pickoffs... Must say that I like the way the Dodgers stack up against the Cubs rather than the Nats. Nats lineup is full of righties that can (and would) give Kershaw, Hill and Wood absolute fits. Cubs offense never dies either, but I like the Dodgers bats against their pitchers for sure...especially considering the absolute mess their rotation is in after the NLDS. Bottom line--the NLCS is on a friggin platter for the Dodgers to take...but they have to TAKE it. They should take both games in LA...but it isnt a given. Cubs are too good to fool around with. Should be a good, STRESSFUL week of baseball...GO DODGERS!!!

W: Dallas Keuchel (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

L: Masahiro Tanaka (0-1, 3.00 ERA)

Tanaka didn't pitch badly at all (only four singles in six innings), but lost the gave nevertheless since Keuchel as usual pitched a shutout against the Yankees. I completely expected the Astros to be up 1-0.

The Nats blew the game, but my Cubbies looked all too eager to give the game away at times. Our starting pitching was great in this series, but our bullpen was a disaster. I have a feeling that the Dodgers will at worst only need to outlast the Cubs to take the NLCS. I also can't figure out why we're starting Jose Quintana in game one when he pitched in the last game. John Lackey is available, hadn't pitched at all in the last series, and at least had a decent second half of the season. I know it's a lot to go up against Clayton Kershaw, but he rest of the pitching staff is spent at this point.

LOL...Joe Buck (lifelong Cardinals cheerleader) HATES the Yankees...and since he's lost two rings to them during his career, i would suspect Smoltz feels the same way...Severino was not getting the calls off the plate that Verlander did...not even close...Yankee batters and Joe Girardi were shaking their heads and side-eyeing the homeplate umpire all night....

thanks! I agree, Judge is awesome. In fact, the Yankees are my second-favorite team and always have been. But I am 100% in the Astros' corner. Counting on Keuchel to continue his ownership of the Bronx Bombers today. And given the performance of our bullpen lately, he's gonna have to go 9!

Keuchel's dominance of the Yankees is damn near paranormal...im just looking past tonight to game 6...

Then the Yankees get Verlander. He did OK in Game 2, LOL.

I don't know who the Astros would start in a Game 7. McCullers? McHugh? Peacock? I guess I'll worry about that when/if we get there.
