I have a feeling the Orville will get renewed for a second season even if ratings for the show aren't out of this world.

It's got the big backing I don't see why it shouldn't.

Yeah ratings aren't everything. Many shows that get cancelled have better ratings than some shows that aren't cancelled.

I missed the last episode so I don't have any comments about it. Still thinking it comes on Sundays. don't know why it's on Thursdays that's a touchy spot to be. Personally I'm more loyal to GA, or Scandal at this point and I still miss those.

I was expecting more laughs. I've giggled a few times, but I've been waiting for the big guffaw moment...and it hasnt come yet. Still...I like it, even though every time Captain Mercer speaks, I hear Brian the Dog...

Make it so, Number One...

You might be waiting a while. It was never intended to be a slapstick laughfest like Family Guy or American Dad. Even Ted and A Million Ways To Die In the West weren't written like that.

We're enjoying the character development, the humor, and the storylines. I think if it was a guffaw moment every time, it'd lose its charm real fast.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

If The Stars Should Appear

Image result for the orville if the stars should appear review

Ed and the Orville encounter a massive vessel adrift in space, which is in danger of colliding with a star. While some of the crew set out to help the ship’s inhabitants, Bortus, Gordon, and John stay behind and fend off a Krill attack on another Union ship.

The series ratings are piss poor. I would be surprised if fox renews this meh-mess. Perhaps sci-fi network?

I'm guessing at a 0% means that Ten Days in the Valley is a limited series. Well the Orville is at an 80% so that is a good sign.

It’s amazing to me that this follows in the tradition of “Family Guy” stealing from “The Simpsons” format. “The Orville” rips of “Star Trek Next Generation” with the addition of laughs (which have been funny here and there). This guy! Right down to the flavor of the score!

What a businessman.

It almost feels like an “Airplane” movie that had the jokes sifted down. In the same way those were patterned after big hit movies that were original.

Only thing is that this show costs more than a sitcom does. If it gets a second season, it's because family guy money keeps it on the air.

To put it into perspective; Will and Grace is averaging twice as many viewers each show.

Not unusual. November sweeps are coming up so a few might go into repeats for a couple of weeks before new shows in November. Also depends on how many first season episodes were ordered. Many times networks order 8 or 10, maybe 12 to really test the waters. So they'll get stretched out over nine months, opposed to 20something shows being on a more regular schedule.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
