yes yes yes helping others will help you get out of your own head, and spread love for one another too. Yoga, meditation or just a walk can help also. A change in routine wouldn't hurt.

Yup, doing something out of the norm is what gets one out of the rut; I know.

Maneuver in your purpose in life. The meaning of life is to find your gifts. The purpose of life is to give them away. You're in a slump because you're not in the space you should be in. Get there, and you'll be happier. I promise.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Congnitive behavioral therapy. It is amazing.
I did it without professional help, and I ended up getting rid of debt., getting more energy, finding a wonderful partner, and rewiring my brain.

Sure, it's not a sustained high for those of us who suffer from depression, but it really works. I'm having to do it now to cope with a stressful period in my life, but I know that it works, so it's making all the difference.

do something, get some momentum, once you get momentum, then it becomes a matter of keeping the people and things in check that drag you back to despair. It's tough because none of us is an island, so much bullshit going on all the time that's it' damn near impossible to keep your focus. Having peoples expectations placed on you that you may or may not have agreed to, societal expectations of money and bills that tear you in ten different directions. My only answer was to cut off anyone that doesn't help me, which includes large portions of friends and family. I'm unusual though, I really do better without people, some people would rather be miserable than to face themselves. It's the reason why prisoners would rather hang out with murderers and rapists rather than sit in solitary.

i think that might work too, although i've never really done it. distract oneself by helping another with their problems. However, i've grown skeptical of people who do that for the same reason, like they want to patronize others and make themselves feel better rather than help. In the end it's all about them anyway.
