that was a fun movie!

A truly classic and fun movie. I love Kathy Najimy is just about anything she does. And Mark Shaiman is pretty legendary when it comes to music in movies. I do think it would have been a hit with Bette Midler as well, but I'm glad Whoopi landed the part. I'd been a fan of Whoopi since her one-woman Broadway show. I had seen her on an episode of PM Magazine and then bought her album from Columbia House. I had almost all of it memorized verbatim. I did find the HBO (?) special on VHS recently and snagged it. It's never been on DVD to my knowledge, and I still have a VCR around here.
