'NEW' Purple Rain

The conventional colors used by weather scientists to denote inches of recorded rainfall are inadequate to describe the current 1000 year storm now inundating Texas so they have introduced a new color to the weather maps: PURPLE.

not sure that it is new. I know they have used Purple Alert days for ozone days that is a higher risk than RED

Not new at all. Purple and red have been used for harsher storm cells and activity. It's just really rare that it's that bad and needs to be used.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
