Prayers up! hug

I haven't heard from my best girlfriends in Miami in 3 days and I don't know whether they got the heck out of Dodge or not. Having survived the mess that was Andrew in 93(?), sending prayers for the safety, good health, and perseverence of all affected by the storm. Whatta freakin' storm season , huh?

...and in other news here across the pond we're watching the footage of Tuscany going through a freak flash flood, flooded to hell and back, and seeing the film footage, good Lord. Mother Nature is trippin' with all this destruction confused

Thanks. Phone service is still spotty as well as power.

I went through Andrew too. This monster was something never seen before though.

What a year.

I'm glad you are all right and hope your relatives as well as others are okay after this awful storm. I'm grateful that people I know personally in Florida survived tragedy also.

Glad your friends are okay.

We are back home safely and all is well at my place other than having a mountain of fallen branches and debris waiting to be collected. I had trouble getting transportation back home until was put in touch with some family I'd never met who turned out to be only a few miles from where I was staying. Imagine discovering thirty-some new relatives, one of whom happens to be a travel agent. They invited me to stay with them until I could get a flight.

It was HUGE silver lining in the dark cloud.

Many of my fellow Floridians are still sweltering though and lots of people lost everything. Power is due to be fully restored by Sunday. I'm a little tight right now but I'm going to donate what I can anyway.

I'm so glad your story turned out well despite the damage. It certainly puts us in check about what is really important. Funny how family tends to come out during a crisis--even ones you never heard of. I hope the recovery will go well for all in Florida--a really tough time. Blessings to everyone dealing with the aftermath.

Glad you're OK! I've been thinking about you during this but haven't been online hardly at all until today.

Thanks guys. There's still tons of stinky, nasty debris to clean up but that's nothing compared to what the folks in the keys and the west coast of the state are still going through. Grateful for all of your prayers and help for them too.
