That's apples and oranges. You should say that if this was a Twilight Zone thread

I watched the 1st episode, but not well, too much other stuff was going on. It's a 2 parter, so one can only see the 1st part for free, then subscribe the see the second part. So though I do have plans to watch it again I'm not in a hurry since I have no intentions on subscribing and won't know how it ends.

I have a feeling it's just one big episode, well let me know when it comes out on DVD. |

I don't really care about popular opinion here.
Even though I have some nitpicks, I love Discovery. Even though the silly humor confuses the tone, I love The Orville.
I'm on board for both!! Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors. |

You are the Outer Limits. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days... |

Well when it comes to Discovery the main problem Morningsong and I have is that you have to pay for it. We also agree that introducing brand new alien races in a prequel makes no sense. I haven't seen it yet but will wait until it comes out on DVD. For the Orville I want more humor. The whole ex wife thing kind a kills the humour at times. Episode 3 with them deciding to do a sex change on the baby was more fit for star trek than the Orville. |

Yes, the subscription is BS. Especially in this day and age where there are other "options".
I'm watching now but not paying. That said, I'll be in line to add it to my Star Trek DVD/Blu-ray collection on day 1. I have purchased every episode and movie from every Star Trek series on VHS, DVD and/or Blu-ray, most of them multiple times to upgrade. I'll be happy to pay for this one, too, to keep my collection complete, but I only pay for physical copies.
I'll be buying The Orville on blu-ray, too!

I liked episode 3 on Orville, they stayed with one subject and didn't try to fit 3 or 4 in one episode, like they were doing for the 1st two. I especially loved they examined many points of view. And we know they are patterning themselves after ST. I liked episode 4 too even though they walked that fine line of giving their opinion on religion as a whole and slyly making a point about ignoring climate change, at least that's how I took it.

Oh yeah, I will support ST and buy the "whatevers" when they become available, but CBS may not have it's hands glued in my bank account, pocket or wallet, I've paid them enough to be entertained. |

Think Orville needs it's own thread. They are already on episode 5 and most shows hasn't started yet. |
