I liked it. It was exactly what I thought it would be. It's not quite "so bad it's good" but it's a movie that doesn't pretend to be anything it's not.

I thought it would be all comic bookish. It is not. I enjoyed it a lot. Even feel the need to go see it again to see if I can spot the things I missed. It got so intense I had to start laughing, those East Berliners are hardcore, geeesh. Charlize worked it.

The soundtrack is hot too. Yes, it's the same overplayed 80's shit bt their placements in the film worked real well.

Exactly. I knew it would be style over substance and oh my god what style they presented. It's in the pantheon of great action movies/scenes.

She's a goddess. And yeah, watching this and a few other shows previously, Im thinking American 'gangsters' aint shit when it comes to these others. 25th Hour had me thinking this.

I guess you could say it was well shot....but it was pretty ridiculous... Style over substance and either feminine propaganda (with lezzie stuff to boot and her calling a guy a "pussy".... same cliche crap that came with SUICIDE SQUAD)...or just comic book geek fetishism...(i'm not familiar with the "graphic novel" it's adapted from)

much was made about the big fight sequence... wasn't bad. But still incredibly UNBELIEVEABLE... (120 lb woman in heels throwing guys twice her weight with a forearm push?? I call bullshit.....ridiculous)...

Counted 7 cuts in that sequence... though seaming them together was done well (it gets easier for these film guys with new processes) so I know it wasn't continous... particularly the last major cut where the actors were refitted with bloodied battered face makeup.... Theron smashes ONTO the table, and then the guy covers the cut when the camera passes his back... this time Charlize is on her knees (she fell on her back).... clear continuity error.

ANyways... it wasn't a complete piece of shit.... I thought the use of Under Pressure was the most retarded bit. (aside from the lesbianism from Can't act for nothing MUMMY starlet...whats er name)

glad people liked it instead of thinking condescension

then again.. had this been made 20 years ago, I wouldn't have felt the same condescending crap, cause it wouldn't have been following the trend of "shove blatant female roles into guy parts"...ALA Ghostbusters, The Hangover IV (GIRLS NIGHT...ER whatever that crap is called)....Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman (the only one that gets a plus in my book) FURY ROAD... THE FORCE AWAKENS (crap).....etc...

20 years ago it'd have gotten my respect...in a RUN LOLA RUN/LA FEMME NIKITA sort of way....

That's because 80's music is better headbang . Movie soundtracks were huge back in the day, now not so much because you got crappy "pop stars" today

That was the thing. In general I'd be making all kinds of snide comments about that, but the way this was done, something in her carriage and her style made it believable, not just some skinny armed chick going toe to toe with a big burly guy but she used objects and her body, nothing was blurred. She came off like a well trained operative about her business. I will say there were a couple of scenes that had gaps but I've seen those even when it's guy on guy. You could tell she was doing all her own stunts.

I drink...and it was "alright". Yeah yeah, trained operative...but also yeah yeah.... physics. The guys were throwing themselves. All her own stunts?

...getting thrown down the stairs was well choreographed but it was a double cut. The rest of the film, yeah... seemed like it was legit.

Har har... bout the other stuff..

Like I said... if it had been done prior to this cheese fest of "woman combatant" films with ludicrous flexible reality (and not someone like LUC BESSON who's been doing this sort of garb for decades) I'd have given it a recommendation.

I'm not the one pointing out the typical 80's soundtrack (using CAT PEOPPLE - a soundtrack song for another film is actually kinda ironic) or the fact that it's all just a display of style for some hokey "I'm tough as shit attitude" play.

Charlize Theron does a good job with it, I get it... like I said. Either nubile chick feminist propagandas suite...or Geek Fetishist fantasy. Both qualify. For a travelling rogue...she DOES have a posh comic book stylized apartment. It's a dead giveaway to "fantasy" and I'm sure it's not meant to be taken seriously....

But lose that style over substance...and you've got nothing really there at all. Game of deceit going on and that's it. It's not very compelling...hence the gratuitious lesbian scene

It's a movie, not a CIA training film, even the ones with all guys are fake as heck. I kept thinking Salt while watching it, but for me it was better than Salt.

It's clear I need to see this movie and give it a proper reviewing.

But they don't have a Booze and Chow movie theater here in Taos, so I'll have to sneak in some Jack Daniels to "enhance" the experience.

Outside of the title I would have never known this was based on a comic just by how it was shot. It just looked like a spy/espionage movie.

I found that to be the most obvious part in the whole movie. 2 hot chicks, showing skin, talking close, drinking at a bar, where else was it going to go. Heck 2 hot chicks in the same movie these days, odds are 50/50.
