Not really, because I usually just have this Love Crunch granola that comes in a zip-lock bag package without much printed on it!

I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

Because the child is only allowed to eat cereal at the dining room table so they look at the back of it. I'm an adult I always eat cereal in front of the television.

I've never heard of that before. I'm like you in that regard, it's the TV for me.

No, the stores just keep it on their shelves to decorate the place.

Because Hump and me are of a certain age. Back in the olden times there were comics on the back of the box, records, cut out dolls, toys, etc. That's how we got into the habit.

I got my first record from the back of a cereal box. It was Sugar-Sugar by The Archies. biggrin

Younglings are sooo deprived today. lol

They had prizes in the box, too, like Cracker Jacks. They even had Bruce Jenner as a cereal box sex symbol... lol

27 Greatest Things Ever Found inside a Cereal Box

RealClear Staff

Cereal box toys became a staple of breakfasts dating back as far as the 1940s. However, over the years little bonuses like these have all but become extinct thanks to lawsuits.

You can take the toys from our Cap'n Crunch, but you can't take away our memories of these 27 ridiculously great goodies.

1. Super Sugar Crisp Archie's Record

Actual playable records! This is way cool and not the last one we'll see.

2. Cap'n Crunch Puzzle

This puzzle looks so easy it was probably put together and forgotten before their bowl was empty.

3. Cap'n Crunch Glow-in-the-Dark Circus Acrobat

If it were just your run-of-the-mill plastic acrobat, we'd say, "meh." But since it looks nuclear, we're interested.

4. Kellogg's Muscle Cars

The fact that the doors and hood open give this toy high marks in our book.

5. Wheaties Metal License Plates

Be sure to collect all 48 states!

6. Kellogg's Stagecoach

Now that's a prize!

7. Ghostbusters II Record

There's a lot to take in here. Let's break it down:

  1. Yes, there was a Ghostbusters II cereal?!?!?!
  2. Inside this box there was a Ghostbusters record.
  3. And on top of it all, you could meet a Ghostbuster!

8. Kellogg's Ghost Detector

Apparently Ouija Boards wouldn't fit in the box.

9. Boo Berry Spooky Speedsters

Not to be outdone in the crowded horror-cereal-toy market, Boo Berry and his buddies joined in.

10. Super Sugar Crisp Terrariums

The best part is how nauseated Sugar Bear looks by the whole thing.

11. Cap'n Crunch Dino Spoons

Oh, boy, we bet Fruity Pebbles was pretty mad they didn't think of this first.

12. Fruity Pebbles Dinosaurs

E for effort, Mr. Flintsone. But they're still no Dino Spoons.

13. King Vitamin Royal Racing Coach

They don't make toys like this anymore, nor do they make cereal pitchmen like that. God save the King!

14. Froot Loops Batman Periscope

Sure, it didn't come inside the box, but a Batman periscope is a steal for 60-cents.

15. Rainbow Brite Crazy Chain

If you were bold enough to eat Rainbow Brite cereal, chances are you were already a little crazy. The chain is just icing on the cake.

16. Cheerio's Gun

Mr. Cheerio would be arrested if he tried giving away cardboard firearms today.

17. Mr. T Stickers

I pity the fool who didn't plaster these on a Trapper Keeper.

18. Ninja Turtle Mask

Sure, the mask is a nice touch, but that photo on the back was enough to send a boy in 1989 into a coma.

19. Rice Krispies Submarine

You read that right, a baking soda-powered submarine!

20. Honeycomb Monkees Record

Nice addition to the catalog of cereal box records, Honeycomb.

21. Corn Flakes Fanny Pack

The perfect accessory to your Saved By the Bell look.

22. Rice Krispies High Fliers

It's the simplest prizes that were the most fun and long-lasting (You hear us, Cap'n Crunch puzzle?).

23. Honey Smacks Starbots

There is a cult of folks out there who claim these were the best cereal box toys ever.

24. Quaker Oats Roy Rogers Head

Who wouldn't want a bust of America's favorite cowboy?

25. Fruity Pebbles Erasers

Finally, your chance to make breakfast just a little more like Lord of the Flies.

26. Ice Cream Cones Cereal Gumballs

So, let us get this straight: A sugary cereal flavored like ice cream that came with sugary gumballs? It's almost like this was a conspiracy by America's Dentists.

27. Dinosaurs 3-D Glasses

What Dinersaurs lacked in toy longevity, it made up for with ridiculously 80s commercials.

I remember that! I got that record off the cereal box, too. So cool!

I did some Googling and it turns out The Archies released a whole album's worth of records on cereal boxes. Check this out! http://www.ebay.com/gds/T...580/g.html

Many other bands had cereal box records too - including The Monkees and The Jackson 5: http://www.mrbreakfast.co...t.asp?id=5

Did you play yours on the same thing I played mine?

I admire anyone that actually sits at the table while eating a bowl of cereal...Very rare that I eat cereal but I know I'd sit in the living room or sit on the edge of my bed...

In America reading the Cereal box is what we used to do as kids...

I eat so quickly, I wouldn't have time to read the name of the cereal, never mind the back of the box.

I'm more of a porridge (with some honey) girl but I do love Rice Krispies. It's the snap, crackle and pop that gets me. I like most cereals but I can't stand those chocolate cereals or the ones that taste so sweet it feels like your teeth could fall out any second.
