You would think it would have taken longer but I guess there was a lot of chaos going on with the inner planets up until the debris thinned out and settled into stable orbits. | |

I wonder if George Lucas got the idea for the Death Star from looking at Jupiter? The Red eye could have given him inspiration for the giant laser. As well as the fact that Jupiter is a failed sun=dead/death star. | |

Jupiter isn't the most Death Star looking body in the Solar System - have you seen Mimas?

probably because in some circles, Jupiter is classified as a star...or a fallen star or failed star... due to it being composed of helium and hydrogen like the Sun, but too small to have the same power...

Well, NASA collecting the data now, but over time they'll analyze it and then several months from now we'll get all this information. They already know a lot of things that they didn't know before about the activity going on below the surface of the clouds even down to the core, so they will likely have a lot of information about what's happening inside the red storm. | |
