Would you rather have a boy or girl child?

When my wife was pregnant, she wanted a girl; I had no preference. Now that my daughter is here, I’m SOOO glad she’s a girl – among other things, they’re anecdotally smarter, quicker developers, less prone to violent behavior and more likely to remain close to the family. They also have more encouragement to defy stifling gender role conventions, more control of their sexuality and are TONS more fun to dress! nod

What sex child would you prefer (or does it matter?), and why?

My dad was 60 when I was born! It was definitely unconventional, but I couldn't have been happier with my general upbringing. And I think my siblings and myself are considerably more even-tempered as a result of having an older dad.

you are all lucky to have kids... someday i will adopt perhaps... boy or girl matters not to me...
that having been said in the interest of fairness, i think a girl would be more fun to raise. especially to teach them to never feel as if the are second class to males.

Girl. For all the reasons you said. If I ever want a child, I'll adopt one, one of the benefits being that I can make sure I don't have to raise a boy, because oh my gawd they drive me nuts.

5 of each please!! I want tons of chidren Doesn't matter to me really.

Hmmm...but if I could choose, which I believe nowadays you can; I'd like a girl first. Then a boy. Why? Don't know. I just do.

I am fortunate to have both: I have two boys and a girl. I didn't want to know the sex of any of my children, as long as they were happy. Looking back, I am glad I had a boy first. My daughter has a big brother to look after her. My middle son is autistic, so my daughter is kind of a big sister to him. She looks out for him.

Well, there is a sort of.. "selfish" part of me that would like to have a son.. to "carry on the family name"..
(I know my dad would LOVE that!)

but really..
as long as the child was healthy, the gender really wouldn't matter to me.. I would really be happy to simply be BLESSED with a child..!

hm..
I'll see you tonight..

I'd be happy with either sex. I just know that when my wife has our baby, I DON'T want to know the sex in advance. There are so few genuine surprises in life.

I've got 2 girls. Which leaves me outnumbered 3 to 1 in our house. Not good stats.

My eldest has started asking "Daddy, what's that?", as she points between my legs. I usually reply "Ask your Mummy.", because it doesn't feel right saying "It's Daddy's love truncheon."

Anyway, wouldn't change them for the world.

I am blessed to have one of each...

Nicholas is very rambunctious, which you'll find
boys to be. He's also somewhat emotional and
very smart, although he doesn't always apply his
smarts. He's 7 yrs old.

Selena is also very smart...she's quieter
than my son. I get a kick out of watching her style
of play, moreso than my son. She's 5 yrs old.

Which would i RATHER have? Doesn't matter, they're
just different, one sex isn't better.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

If I had a choice I would choose a girl but I doubt that I will ever have any kids cause I'm already 37 and the older a woman is when she has a child the more dangerous it is to her health, guess I've never really wanted any, dont get me wrong I love kids, I've just never really had the patience for crying screaming kids.

I have a 15 month old girl. I wouldn't trade her for anything. I wasn't fussy, when my wife was pregnant, if we had a boy or a girl.
I was surprised we had a girl, as a girl hasn't been born in our family for over 3 generations.

Melissa is 15. I was more than thrilled when she was born... still am. She's my only little girl, and she's been nothing but a joy.

Andres is 7. He's sensitive, smart and kind. He came eight years after Melly... she was/is the greatest big sister.

Alex is 6. He's goofy yet incredibly smart. He has the best smile.

I love them all... The only "problem" I can foresee is that Melly is a very attractive young lady, and I dread the phone calls and extra attention the boys give her! Damn... that's about it.

I'm a lucky man. touched
