With or without Phil Jackson, the Knicks have the most inept management in sports. Tim Hardaway Junior's not half the player his father was.

It. Makes. No. Sense.

None.

They even can't move that contract.

Over the next four years, 35% of the Knicks cap flexibility is tied up in the Noah & Hardaway contracts.

The Bulls look like geniuses compared to the Knicks.

Spencer Haywood, Marvin Webster, Larry Johnson, Allan Houston, Eddy Curry, Jerome James, Larry Brown, Amare Stoudemire, Phil Jackson, Joakim Noah, etc., etc......handing out bad, bloated contracts is nothing new to the Knicks.

Spurs take a chance on Rudy Gay.

Old man Vince Carter is heading to Sac-town.

We should find out today if the Wizards will match Porter's max offer.

Teams are taking chances on past their prime wing players to do something matched up against the Warriors.

The Cavs just signed Jeff Green.

There's no point in being a Knicks fan with James Dolan and his puppets Steve Mills & Allan Houston in charge. Dolan is the WORST owner in professional sports....what a disgrace.....no light at the end of the tunnel.

Mills signs Hardaway but won't show up to the presser?

Knicks fans are now reduced to getting excited about firings and exits. They deserve better.

So now most of the Knicks cap space is tied up with Hardaway, Ron Baker & Noah......wonderful.

2 years, 8.9mil for Baker - you can't make this stuff up.......If I wasn't a Knick fan, I'd laugh at how inept the front office is. It's not about establishing a consistent winning culture - it's about cronyism. You think any GM (or top free agent) worth a damn wants to come here and deal with the toxic culture at the Garden? So the franchise is stuck with Steve Mills.

Supposedly the Rockets & Knicks are working on a trade involving Anthony. Houston didn't get the memo - to beat Golden State, you need TWO-WAY wing players. LOL@ Carmelo trying to guard Draymond Green or Durant.

Had a surprise visitor at my job today. Shaquille O'Neal stopped by the office - he had a business meeting with some of the sales guys. After his meeting, he was nice enough to take pics with some of my co-workers.

You don't realise how big these cats are until you see them up close - that mfer is huge, but he looked slimmer than he does on TV.

Knicks are looking to hire Scott Puppet, er, Perry as their GM;

He probably feels LeBron is leaving after next season, so he's planning his exit now. But Kyrie's under contract for two more years, so the Cavs don't have to do anything.

In other Cavs news, Derrick Rose signed a 1 year deal.

Kyrie is trying to tick LBJ off so bad they can't help but trade him. CLE's got to look at this season as their last chance in years, perhaps a decade or more, to contend for a title. Kyrie is making it so that they can't play together so he can get out and start over.

His rationale is the same as Kobe's was when Shaq was traded, though Kobe had far more leverage. Unlike Kobe, he doesn't want to stay where he is and be The Man. He wants to go somewhere where he could contend instantly. But he may wind up somewhere like New York.

The article says it all. Kyrie's in for a rude awakening without LeBron. His game needs more work, especially on the defensive end.

You're right. As I recall, there has not been a star that has played with LBJ that has had a better career after leaving/being left by LBJ.

Yet, I still find some sympathy for Irving wanting to strike out on his own.

It takes chutzpah. Or, he's a fucking moron because Irving does not have Kobe's game as when
I think about Kobe, I think about Jordan. I do not think about Jordan when I think about Kyrie.

But, still . . . it takes balls to leave a guaranteed trip to the finals to want to go play with a wack
squad.

Oh my god - yes it does!

I'm the kind of sports fan who does not buy into "team chemistry" or any of the other "truths"
usually professed by journalist and talking heads regarding sports, but that article is pretting
damning of Kyrie Irving's game.

Thanks for posting it, NP.

Is Kyrie more concerned about "getting his" on a shit squad (like my Knicks) or winning? That concerns me.

I know LeBron is a diva, but so were Michael & Kobe. They could be brutal to their teammates too, but those teammates knew where their bread was buttered in May & June.

I do believe in team chemistry but I get where you coming from.

The most overused cliche I don't buy into is Player A makes others around him better.

No either other players have it or they don't have it. Some players may just be

a better fit for a system.

The ESPN talking heads seem to think that Irving has been swayed by the Westbrook narrative
and believes he too, can average a triple double, lead a ho-hum squad to the playoffs, and win
the MVP as "the man."

Michael Jordan punched Steve Kerr in the face during practice . . . his own teammate! - and wouldn't
speak to Rodman off the court, so, I agree with you: I don't know why there are some members of
the media who are trying to depict LBJ's divo tactics as being something we've never seen or heard
of before.

The Cavs do not have to trade Irving; I'd wait it out. But, it looks more and more obvious that
Dan Gilbert is one of the most ineffective owners in all of sports.

Yeah, I typically don't buy into sports truths that cannot be quantified. And, because there is no
way to quantify "team chemistry" in and of itself, I usually just ignore phrases like that. There are
tons of teams that win championships all the time with players who are not very close with each
other.

Westbrook is a perfect example. With Durant, he went to an NBA final and could have gone to another had they taken care of business against Golden State. What did Westbrook do in this year's playoffs? I guess Kyrie wants to go to a team like his Cavs were before LeBron came back, where he'd have the freedom to jack up bad shots and play no defense. The Knicks would tolerate that, but not the Spurs. Popp will shut that down real quick.

I define team chemistry as putting the work in together on the court, field, or whatever arena to accomplish the goal of winning. I'm not talking about being friends with teammates or having a goody goody personality. I'll give you Michael Irvin as an example. This crazy MF did every imaginable low life thing outside of murder off field but came practice or game day he was ready because he had the chemistry with Emmitt and Aikman and put in the work to win. If Iverson had the work ethic Irvin had his career wouldn't have flamed out at 33.
