some strange shit Tonight I was out driving, taking my movies back to Blockbuster. I got a sudden hankering for some peanut butter cookies from Tim Horton's. Instead of taking my usual route home on Gratiot Ave. I took the expressway (94 East actually). I was on it for less than a half mile when I saw a van ahead of me with its hazards on stopped in the middle of the road. I changed lanes only to find out there was something blocking the entire highway, all 3 lanes and both shoulders. A gas tanker had tipped over. I got out of my car to talk to the dude standing there and he said it had just happened. The dust was still settling. I wondered if I should go check on the driver cuz there was no one moving by the truck, but I was afraid to get near it in case it exploded. But it turned out that the dude I was talking to sent his passenger to check on him. Luckily, he came stumbling out holding his head, but alive. Shortly after that, tons of cars started piling up behind us and there was no turning around. Countless cops, paramedics and fire trucks arrived within minutes. Luckily, the driver was okay and the tanker didn't blow. But it took over an hour to get everyone out of there. They blocked off the highway so no other cars could enter and redirected us one by one to an alternate route, right back on Gratiot. At first I was nervous. Then I was impatient. Then I was having fun. Then I was grateful. What a strange little detour. And all that for cookies.

Fortunately not. I'm just glad that it was an old woman taking my order at the drive through. Otherwise, I might've been on the scene a minute too soon.

It was a sign, Tron... you should never have eaten the tainted cookies, as they will allow Saddam Hussein to rise from the ashes and conquer your local 7-11 where he will then subjugate the masses of wieners and condiments at the snack area.

, isn't the power of "choice" a constant twist in our lives..., the key is (I believe)... through every situation that occurs within our lives... all is indeed a learning experience... it becomes part of "us" and truly within it all... it is the attitude we "choose" to have that brings about the beauty and peace in all situations. So nice to read (in your post) that in the end you were grateful for "the moment", that is beautiful TRON.
