OK finished season 4 of Enterprise and have to say it was the best season of the series. My only complaint would be that they had alot of 2 and 3 part episodes (which means less stories) well here is my review -

Episode 1 "Storm Front part 1" & Episode 2 "Storm Front part 2" - Well season 3 ends with a pretty good season cliff hanger. This 2 part has Enterprise returning home from Xindi space after defeating the Reptilians only to find themselves back in Time. The year is 1944 and the Nazi's are winning the War and have taken over the East Coast of the United States. Worse of all the Nazi's are getting help from Aliens who are changing the time line. By the end of the episode Silik is killed (which means no more Suliban) and Daniels tells Archer that the time line is fixed so no more time temporal wars. This sets things up for the series to focus on the early days of the federation.

Episode 3 "Home" In this episode we get a chance to see more of Vulcan and T'Pol's personal life. We also see the construction of NX-2 Columbia

320px-Columbia_nx-02.jpg

Episode 4 "Borderland" Episode 5 "Cold Station 12" Episode 6 "The Augments" this 3 part introduces Dr. Soong (played by TNG Brent Spiner). This episode deals with genetic enhancing done by many humans to increase strength (Khan is mentioned by name in this episode) The episode ends with Dr. Soong in his cell thinking about focusing his attention on artificial intelligence instead

Khan1.jpg139?cb=20110323022030&path-prefix=en

Episode 7 "The Forge" Episode 8 "Awakening" Episode 9 "Kir' Shara" This 3 part shows us division within Vulcan high council. We also get to see T'Pau for the first time. We learn that T'Pol had a pet Sehlat as a child (as the same with Spock's pet I-Chaya mentioned in the Animated series episode "yesteryear").We also see the Romulans making their presence.

star_trek_enterprise___t_pau_by_ibiritrekker-d9wt5ou.jpg320x240.jpg

Episode 10 "Daedalus" In this episode Dr. Emory Erickson, supposedly he invented the transporter. I find it hard to believe that humans invented that. I'm guessing he was the human who figured out how transporter technology works. Through out the series we find the Vulcans are slow in passing on technology to humans. Interesting story. Dr. Erickson is played by Bill Cobbs who co-stared with Dr. Phlox on "The Others"

6f0172df9c71a7d6c6448f2ab08ee474.jpg

Episode 11 "Observer Effect" I never saw this episode before. Reed and Mayweather are taken over by Aliens who see how humanoids react to death

ent-observereffect17a.jpg?w=468&h=180

Episode 12 "Babel one" Episode 13 "United" Episode 14 "The Aenar" This 3 part shows the first time Humans, Telarites, Vulcans, and the Andorians joining forces to stop an un-seen enemy (the Romulans). We also learn more about the Andorians and the race known as the Aenar.

Episode 15 "Affliction" Episode 16 "Divergence" How come the Klingon's look different on the original series, well Enterprise writers finally solve that mystery in this 2 part episode. The same serum that Khan used on himself to give them super strength ended up in the hands of the Klingons. The Klingons thought the serum would increase their strength but had a bad side effect, they lose the ridges on their fore head. It is believed it will be passed down to several generations.

KlingonHead.jpg041913_1704_creandoalos4.jpg?w=299&h=168

Episode 17 "Bound" The Enterprise crosses path with the Orion syndicate.

b6ce7f2eb7d9531355886090971426c3e9a3ff02.jpg

Episode 18 "In A Mirror, Darkly Part 1" Episode 19 "In A Mirror, Darkly Part 2" Well maybe my favorite episodes of the series. This episode deals with 3 elements of the original series, The Evil universe, The Tholians and the Gorn.

2150749-320x2401.jpgTPol_on_Defiant1-200x300.jpg

Episode 20 "Demons" Episode 21 "Terra Prime" Maybe the saddest episode of the series. In this 2 part episode a radical group against Aliens living on Earth take DNA sample of T'pol and Tucker to make the first human/Vulcan baby. Trip and T'pol try to rescue their baby. Unfortunately their baby Elizabeth (T'pol names after Tucker's dead sister) dies. You really feel the pain of T'pol and Tucker losing their child. Col Green (who was in the original series episode "the savage cage") is mentioned

latest?cb=20120610192030latest?cb=20120329234047&path-prefix=enf1c82705615c360a667578fa21e235b4.jpg

Episode 22 "These are the Voyages" I have to agree with Jolene Blalock in not liking the series finale. While using the holodek It's told from Riker's and Troi's point of view, while Riker is dealing with a problem from the Next Generation episode "The Pegasus" from 1994 . It flash fowards 6 years later as Enterprise is ending it's 10 year mission. Reed says "All good things" which is a refrence to The Next Generations last episode. Also Reed and Tucker mention other ships will use the name Enterprise. After the previous episode with Tucker and T'pol losing their child, it's mentioned that in the 6 years that has passed their relationship never develop. What a let down. Tucker gets killed which did not went well with fans. I don't like hey the shows is ending so let's kill off a character

Data's evil brother Lore often ran amuck and caused all kinds of problems for the crew.

Maybe the Data look was intentional since it is a Kirk halloween mask.

It's weird they had Brent play Soong, since that's not the same Soong that created Data. From what I've read he was some distant relative that didn't have any children, so he couldn't even be Data's great grandfather. But I guess it was his work that inspired Data's father Soong. But that sure gets confusing.

1. Brent Spiner’s chest hairs got special treatment.
Occasionally, Westmore had to make a plaster cast of some part of Brent Spiner for a specific scene. Once, while doing one of his chest, he didn’t have quite enough Vaseline on hand to prep him. When it became time to remove the cast, it stuck, so Westmore had to snip Spiner’s chest hairs one by one until he was free … and each snip, no matter how carefully done, was followed by an “ouch!” from poor Spiner. (Westmore had some experience with this, as he and his uncle Bud once similarly trapped Rock Hudson’s entire head, and Bud had done the same to Loretta Young with a plaster leg mold, but in that instance, the snipping had to happen a lot lower. Ouch, indeed.)

Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation

Brent Spiner didn’t know what was coming.

2. Alien heads were not always that easy to remove.
Remember the Selay from Star Trek: The Next Generaton? Originally designed by Andy Probert, the costumes followed Gene Roddenberry’s rule that one always had to be able to see aliens’ eyes and mouths. Things were so busy that week, as they were also creating Anticans for the same episode, they farmed out the creation of the Selay headpieces. When they got them back, the heads were very rigid and difficult to put on, or remove, quickly. One day on set, an actor in a Selay costume wasn’t feeling well, and while everyone scrambled to get the headpiece off him, they were too late: he threw up inside it. Needless to say, that particular headpiece was permanently retired.

The Selay

The Selay in Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s “Lonely Among Us.”

3. There’s a reason Jolele Blalock’s eyebrows kept changing.
Westmore was never happy with Jolene Blalock’s eyebrows; he thought that they violated the rule that all Vulcans have arched eyebrows, and hers were pretty round, especially at the beginning of Enterprise‘s run. Over the course of four seasons, he arched them more and more, and says that if the show had gone to a full seven seasons, they would have been perfect by the end.

T'Pol in Star Trek: Enterprise - Jolene Blalock

T’Pol’s eyebrows underwent some changes between season one and season four.

4. The Borg were made from some pretty old tech.
Westmore’s son Michael helped him design the Borg, using parts from old, broken circuit boards to make the various implants and pieces stuck to their bodies.

The Borg

A Borg drone in “Best of Both Worlds” from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

5. The Borg concealed some silly secrets, right on their bodies.
They took things a step further for the movie Star Trek: First Contact. Makeup artists were creating dozens of individual pieces for the Borgs’ faces, and wrote their own names directly onto the implants, making sure they wouldn’t be seen on camera. One artist added the words “Westmore’s House of BBQ” in one of them, and Westmore himself didn’t find out until long after the movie was finished.

6. The Borg’s blinking lights were not as random as they looked.
Final Borg fact: the blinking lights on some of the Borg actually spelled words out in Morse code, including the name of Michael Westmore Jr.’s dog.

A Borg with lights from Star Trek: First Contact

Blinking lights on the Borg weren’t as random as they seemed.

7. Sometimes Westmore was very literally behind the scenes … as in RIGHT behind them.
Remember TNG “Conspiracy,” when Remmick swallowed the parasite and his neck started puffing out in all different directions? Westmore attached air bladders to Robert Schenkkan, who played Remmick, and to that attached some rubber tubing and ran it down his back. But the only way to inflate it to get the effect they wanted was for Westmore to lie on the floor behind Schenkkan and puff into the tube whenever the director told him to. It required a lot more takes than he expected, so with each retake he slowly changed from light pink to dark pink to red until he was so exhausted he had to just lie there, helpless, for a while before he could breathe normally again.

Fun fact: Robert Schenkkan is a playwright who has won both a Tony and a Pulitzer, and co-wrote Hacksaw Ridge.

Remmick in "Conspiracy"

Those neck bulges got their fresh air from Michael Westmore.

8. LeVar Burton had a very specific morning routine.
LeVar Burton used to look at each day’s scripts while in the makeup chair on shooting days, while he ate his cereal out of a coconut shell. He had no trouble memorizing his lines, even though this was the very first time he was seeing them.

LeVar Burton

There’s a reason LeVar Burton is the Reading Rainbow guy!

9. Dax’s spots and Chakotay’s tattoo held secrets.
Westmore used to hand draw both Dax’s spots and Chakotay’s tattoo every day, and would number the day and add his signature every time. Chakotay’s final tattoo was numbered “#750 MW” and Dax’s final set of spots was signed “#538 MW,” right on her neck (but under the uniform collar). He frequently gets asked how he managed to make Dax’s spots identical in every episode, but admits that they weren’t, and no one ever noticed–not the producers, and not even nitpicky Star Trek fans. Chakotay, however, remained perfectly consistent, despite being hand drawn every day, and Westmore accomplished this by making sure he always started and finished in the same spot, right over Beltran’s inner left eyebrow.

10. Makeup had its very, very unglamorous side.
There’s a scene in TNG’s “The Offspring” in which Data has first created Lal and is introducing her to Deanna Troi. Lal doesn’t look human yet, and is a metallic-looking android with no discernible facial features. To get that effect, actor Leonard Crofoot (who also played Trent in “Angel One” and a Qomar dignitary on Star Trek: Voyager) had to endure a very complex process. His whole body was covered, including his head, and while he had a small space near his mouth to breathe, his ears were covered and the director had to shout for Crofoot to hear instructions. More challenging still, getting the right look meant he had to wear full latex body pants glued in place, coated with an adhesive-based bronze makeup, and was then rubbed down with a bronze powder so he wouldn’t stick to everything he touched. The entire concoction was was so confining that he couldn’t go to the bathroom while he was in it. He spent one very long 14 hour day in that makeup, and avoided all food and drink because 14 hours is a very long time to not use the bathroom!

Leonard Crofoot in "The Offspring"

Leonard Crofoot’s makeup covered him from head to toe.

Well it did take him sometime to work out the Cardassians' make up.

Read somewhere that Jolene Blalock also didn't like her eye brows in the first few seasons. She wanted them to look more vulcan. She was a huge fan of the orginal series and Spock was her favorite.

1 episode LeVar directed

On This Day in Deep Space Nine
Soldiers of the Empire premiers.

It was April 29, 1997 and we were reminded what makes a Klingon truly Klingon: honor and blood.

Worf and Jadzia are officers on a Klingon ship, captained by Martok, that has lost its Klingon way. It has not won a battle in ages, and the scent of defeat fills the air.

To make matters worse, it appears that Martok lost more than an eye at the Dominion internment camp he was found in.

Can Worf turn the tides, or will he also be swept away? Jadzia, then, must be strong for both of them.

And that was twenty years ago.
