I ended up watching this guy's show several times. A rarity for me. Now, myself, I've never been where he's been, not even close. Sure a bit melancholy, but nowhere near this. But what fascinated me was how relatable, or rather comprehensive his act was. I got it! I felt like I walked away with a whole new awareness. Days later I'm still thinking about it. So giving props

i had never heard of him until two nights ago, when i watched the new-ish mike birbiglia film 'don't think twice.' i really liked it a lot, & thought he (gethard) was probably the most interesting performer in the movie. i just read the atlantic piece on career suicide, & i'm definitely intrigued & will be looking out for it. hopefully it pops up on a platform accessible to me soon.
