The adaptation of Evelyn Waugh novel was excellent, but was Brideshead the best in TV history? I don't think so. "Upstairs Downstairs, I Caligula and "The Jewel in The Crown" were brilliant. (IMHO) Downton Abbey was horrible...

I think you mean "I, Claudius" with Derek Jacobi. Excellent show.
