The Conners are jumping on TV’s revival bandwagon.

An eight-episode Roseanne revival is currently in the works starring original leads Roseanne Barr, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert, Deadline reports. The project is currently being shopped around, with both the show’s original home ABC and streamer Netflix apparently interested. Laurie Metcalf, who scored three Emmys for her role as Roseanne’s kid sis Jackie, is also expected to participate.


The series’ original producing team of Barr, Tom Werner and Bruce Helford are all on board, with Gilbert also taking an EP credit.

Some big questions remain (aside from where it will air):
* Will Dan’s death be erased?
* Who will play Becky?
* Will CBS allow Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki to participate?
* Will it be closer in quality to Seasons 1-7 (the series’ golden years) or Seasons 8 and 9 (the years the show self-destructed).

Netflix should pick it up. They can cuss and do things they couldn't do on ABC. The original Becky would be best, and I'd hope that Galecki would be part of it. No reason he couldn't unless it's simple scheduling.

It might be an interesting take if the show picked up where the other one left off just before Dan died. Kind of like an alternative time line that then shoots to the future. Find a defining moment (maybe Dan has the heart attack, but lives), and create a new path.

Or they can wake up and find Dan in the shower.

Roseanne is a Trump supporter (check her twitter if you don't believe me). It will be interesting to see if they have political debates on this, because I know Sara Gilbert is definitely not. I think they will make Darlene a lesbian. I want Jackie back and hope it comes close to the quality of the first 6 seasons, if it's a spiritual sequel to season 8 (the one before the lottery season) it will suck. Hopefully Roseanne knows that seasons 4 and 5 were the best and will try to make them as good as those.

Hopefully they can include some drama with Roseanne not acting like the crazy woman she was in the last two seasons. This is one of my very favorite scenes (from season 5, the highest createst peak season of the series).
