I agree with that, Kirk was a lucky guy. The Indian woman looks like Sandra Bullock

Can't stand when they go to Aliens worlds and the alien looks 100% human (no ridges on nose, fore head, ears little different, nothing). These are all alien races, talk about being lazy in the wardrobe department. I think STNG was the most guilty of this.

I always thought the wildest one was the green Orion slave girl.

Ready for a look at Star Trek: Discovery? Here’s the first photo of stars Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou and Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Burnham. SOURCE:

Would probably get higher ratings than most shows on the air. Supergirl had decent ratings on CBS, if it didn't the network wouldn't have ask for a full season. Wouldn't mind if Star Trek went on the CW since that is the sister station of CBS.

Looks pretty good, though some things are confusing. Thought Jason Isaacs was the Captain and Soneque Martin Green was 1st officer? Not sure about Michelle Yeoh's acting. Are those the Klingon's?? If so why do they look different? Enterprise takes place before Discovery and on Enterprise they look like the Klingon's since Star Trek the motion picture. Is Soneque Martin Green half Vulcan? Also it states it takes 10 years before Kirk and Spock. That means Captain of the Enterprise is Captain Pike and Spock is also serving on Enterprise, will they cross paths? I do believe that the first episode will air on CBS then will move to CBS on-line. Morningsong any thoughts???

Looks like Soneque is human adopted by Vulcans, that should be interesting. Doesn't look quite like the ST of tv, but looks interesting just the same. It will be hard juggling the fact that this is pre-TOS timeline yet it has all the modern sensibilities (let alone far better tech) that TOS did not have. I mean a female captain and a female 1st officer, I think TOS made comment on the female 1st officer part once. A ton of new aliens, not a big alien fan meaning I don't deal well when the ship is predominently non-human, yes I'm kind of earth-ist, some aliens are great but I like it mostly earthlings. Did I miss a premiere date???

Well she's got the eye brows. Any way I hope it's not a whole bunch of flash backs of Soneque serving under command of Michelle Yeoh (Yeoh's acting does not look good in these trailers) IMDB has Michelle Yeoh in all 13 episodes and from the trailer looks like that's her former captain. For the aliens, don't like introducing new Aliens when this is supposed to be a prequel. If your gonna have Aliens crew members have already established Alien races on it like the Bolians or the Andorians. Don't think you missed the premiere date, let me know if you find out.

Maybe she's 1/4 Vulcan and doesn't have the ears which is what I was looking at, especially with her natural eye shape. But I can't imagine that because via Enterprise one knows that Vulcans and humans didn't have that much interaction they didn't even know they could have offspring so I don't know if that would be enough time to start having 2nd generation mixed children. But maybe they're playing the genetic game and saying that not all human/Vulcan offspring end up with the same physical traits. Which would still be interesting if they plan on being that specific about background storylines. Now I have question about that green blood.

Yes I read they are not following the JJ Abrams (thank god). Uniforms, looks like they are trying to have a look between Enterprise look and Star Trek TOS look. Though the uniforms and bridge should look like how it was on Christopher Pike was captain of Enterprise or how it look like in the episode Where no man has gone before

I wonder if they will make another Star Trek series set in the same time line as Voyager/DS9/Next Generation? Though if they did it would be like many years later since Voyager has been off the air since 2001. Hey is Sisco still stuck with the prophets??? If not they need to resolve that already.

Guess we will find out. She is at least definitely influenced by Vulcan culture, she is using the live long and prosper hand gesture

Good point. I know when Enterprise came out people were saying the same thing about Phlox and the Sulibans. I know they wrote it off as "well they meet other races" but the Sulibans came off as a big deal and would be a magor player in the future.

I don't know why but I think pblox's ties are thru the Vulcans. Then again his race is such an open race, definitely not bent on conquest, but very very curious beings, so maybe they tend to venture further than most species.

The Discovery Canon Problem
For months now we have been waiting for news on Star Trek: Discovery. Last week, the first trailer was released, and Trekkies have been debating it incessantly on the World Wide Web ever since. One issue that had come up again and again is Discovery and its treatment of canon. Some have been very critical over the established canon that has come from five decades of television episodes and motion pictures. Some will claim, without having seen a single episode, that canon was being ignored and thrown aside by uncaring, non-Trek fan producers who are only looking at Star Trek:Discovery as a quick payday. The uniforms are too different, the Klingons don't look right, and the technology does not measure up to snuff. The shouts are deafening at times.

Just watched Next Generation episode "Yesterday's Enterprise". At the end of the episode Picard orders Data to set a course to Archer 4 (not sure if that's a planet or an outpost. Riker also mentions Archer 4 during that episode). Is Archer 4 named after Captain Archer????

Archer IVClass:Type:Satellites:two moons
Native Species:Various land and sea lifeforms
Location:In orbit of 61 Ursae Majoris
Affiliation:Archer IV was an inhabited M-class planet orbiting the primary 61 Ursae Majoris. This planet was located less than ninety light years from the Sol system and had two moons. Named for Starfleet Captain Jonathan Archer, the planet was the first M-class world surveyed by the crew of the NX-class starship Enterprise NX-01 in 2151. Archer IV's atmosphere consisted of seventeen percent oxygen and eighty-one percent nitrogen, also including trace elements of nitrogen dioxide and chloromethane. Boasting a fertile landscape including vast grasslands and snow-topped mountains, Archer IV was inhabited by a wide array of plant and animal life, including nocturnal marsupials, scorpion-like arachnids, fireflies, and fish. The planet, however, supported no indigenous intelligent lifeforms upon its discovery. The first Earth creature to set foot on the planet was Porthos, Captain Archer's dog, followed moments later by Archer himself. Initial landing parties in 2151 experienced rapidly changing weather patterns and fast-moving storms. Such inclement weather spread toxic pollen, released by the diverse fauna and flora, causing in Human and Vulcan visitors paranoia and decreased cognitive function. With no refuge from the effects of the pollen, the planet was considered to be uninhabitable. (ENT: "Strange New World", "Home", "Two Days and Two Nights") Shortly before Travis Mayweather visited the ECS Horizon in January 2153, Charles Tucker III handed him a PADD which included a picture of Mayweather standing in a green field on Archer IV. (ENT: "Horizon") Archer IV remained uninhabitable throughout the 22nd century. In the early 2200s, however, an antidote for the pollen was discovered. By 2268, more than seven hundred million people populated the planet. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II" production art) In 2366, Archer IV was the destination of the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D following an investigation of a nearby radiation anomaly. (TNG: "Yesterday's Enterprise") In 2371, the location of Archer IV was labeled in a star chart Data and Picard studied in stellar cartography aboard the Enterprise-D. (Star Trek Generations, okudagram) In an alternate timeline, Archer IV was the site of a battle in the Second Federation-Klingon War. At this engagement, the Enterprise-D emerged victorious against the Klingons. (TNG: "Yesterday's Enterprise")
