Haystack

A nice, deep Welsh accent does it for me every time.

Whatever a "California accent" is, I don't think you have it. Certainly not a "valley girl" accent!

My mix of New England and Midwestern heritage sometimes prompts people to ask me where I'm from--they sense that I'm not from around here (i.e., Indianapolis). One time while re-entering the United States from Canada, I got hassled by a Customs agent who seemed to suspect me of being Canadian.

neither do i...do californians have accents?? hmm

I don't think we do! hmm I DO say "dude" and "hella" too much though. I know, I'm a dumbass... biggrin

I'm not sure. I've asked him about it a few times but all he tells me is that I talk really fast and kinda slur all my words together. Ian told me I sound just like his California cousins.

Whenever I've been in the US I always get asked if I'm Australian. Do the Australians get asked if they are from the UK? I need to know.

Yes! This used to happen to me all the time when I was in the US.

.

To answer to topic question:

I like American and Canadian and English accents.

And some Aussie girls sound fine, too!

unfortunately for me,

SEVERAL

accents are capable of, um.. distracting me:

a nice, heavy SOUTHERN accent..

a Russian accent can do it to me (HAS done it to me..)

a proper British accent is (to "uncultured" American ears) quite sophisticated.. & SEXY..

a French accent- damn. The way French women "roll" the r's with the tongue...
DAMN! love

or, "WORST"-
that I T A L I A N accent.. them too, the way the do their r's, the way they pronounce almost every syllable, it's a VERY "accentuated" way that they speak..
virtually NO DEFENSE against this...
love horny love horny love

Damn.
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..
