Well - if the guy owns a CGI company - you'd kind of expect his CGI to be state-of-the-art, that's all...... right? (Which, btw, is an opinion that many people hold - Me personally, I *do* find the CGI awesome, as opposed to the story - that' what I go to the hall to watch it for!

You think the CGI in the Star Wars prequels is "awesome"??? Even by the standards of the time they were decent at best. Jurassic Park came out 10 years prior and looked better. In fact, Jurassic Park still holds up today. The Star Wars prequels definitely do not. | |

I never said I didn't like the movies nor did I say the special effects were bad. I'm saying that they weren't great even by the standards of the time. The Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies were released around the time of the Star Wars prequels and had far better CGI. Jurassic Park was released 10 years prior and had better CGI. Terminator 2 was released even further back and featured better CGI. Again, I'm not saying the CGI in Star Wars is bad. But it was definitely not state of the art for its time and has been completed eclipsed since by the likes of The Avengers, Avatar and the newer, Lucas-free, Star Wars movies. | |

Well the space ships and all that are good, the live action characters like what's his name Jar Jar binks yeah not up to par. In Attack of the clones in the big fight scene way to much CGI going on, those animals creatures they rode looked really fake

I have to say you have a point there. Now THAT'S a movie that holds up till today - the little blobs of metal flowing back to form the robot, etc etc etc etc. remain Mind Blowing!! | |

Btw, Parekh and Singh from here, who I've talked about before here on the Org, are going to play Dublin - Workman's Social Club from May 18-28 (donno the exact dates for *Dublin* - it's a world or Europe tour) - I'd go see em if I was you. I don't really see why - they make "dreampop", lots of Irish/English/whatever people should find PLENTY interest in that Maybe you didn't HEAR the song when I posted it last? :
