The Vikings’ shiny new stadium is a giant death trap for birds

Many bird researchers were concerned that the Minnesota Vikings' brand-new $1.1 billion U.S. Bank Stadium would prove deadly for birds.
Those researchers were right. According the City Pages, three volunteer groups found 60 dead birds around the stadium after a two-hour monitoring period. In addition to the dead birds, 14 others were found stunned. It was a gruesome scene.
The Vikings were aware of the dangers that the stadium could pose to birds. In 2016, the Vikings and Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority proposed a three-year, $300,000 commitment to study the stadium's lethal hazard to birds. The stadium itself is spectacular and looks great on TV, but it's also entirely made out of glass. And the Audubon Chapter of Minneapolis' Ann Laughlin told City Pages that the study won't yield any results. As long as it is made out of glass, U.S. Bank Stadium will continue to be a bird-killing machine.

Most of our country is now too bright at night and that's messing up birds too.

Audubon estimates that in 20 years 50% of our birds will be gone, due to this and other human problems

ive been confused by this for awhile now... all this spacious and empty, free, blue sky over the city of Minneapolis, clear of any traffic except for the occasional airplane, and those blind ass birds somehow find the biggest shiniest building in the city to accidently fly into, and die???.... they cant go around or over the building???...or even get on the ground and walk around it, like us more advanced species?.... aint nobody got time to worry about no damn birds flying into the sacred home of the Minnesota Vikings...FOH
