i just use my hand - karate style - to slice off the top frosting then sling that onto my plate all splat! it's a real time saver!

Yeah. This only works with an un-frosted cake, or one that has a "hard" frosting. And still, you're putting your hands all over the cake every single time to push it together.

Proof that mathematitians may be smart in some respects, but can be just as daft as anyone else in others.
