could be, but jerkiness knows no ideological boundaries in my experience, & most of the clutter i saw there was sort of adolescent rivalry stuff.

i'll miss the boards there quite a bit. not that i posted much personally, but i often did see interesting insights & found good recommendations, and at least a few times people were able to give me the title of a film based on a scene i vaguely remembered from when i was a kid.

you had to filter out a lot of noise to find what you wanted, but that's pretty much just like real life, isn't it?

Yep, they constantly flooded the forums of any movie with a diverse cast or female lead (Star Wars, Ghostbusters etc) with white, male supremacy.

It was still a great place to post about obscure movies and less popular tv shows, and there was a forum for every title ever. This is very unfortunate. I wish they could at least leave the archives up, everytime I watched a vintage title I never previously heard of I would go to the forum and see what people were saying, I will greatly miss that.

I would bet they just don't want to pay people to moderate those boards against all the spam and porn that gets posted, they could give a rat's tail about the trolls, the trolls have been there for a very long time and not one thing as ever been done about it.

Although I'm a pretty frequent visitor of IMDB, i never really went too deep within the Message Board. Usually just the first few comments of a thread. Its still disappointing though(and i think, a mistake).

THIS SUCKS. I always check those message boards for crazy opinions and sometimes interesting facts or connections about movies or TV shows I'm checking out.
