Dear Orgers,

I have been in Amsterdam for three days and am really depressed becuz I have to go back to Paris.

All I want from life at the moment is in Amsterdam, but I have to wait THREE weeks until I hear if I can actually return (due to contractual nonsense).

Yesterday evening I actually was supposed one of the nicest person on the Org and I blew him off cuz I felt I could not face him being so unbelievable DOWN (sorry hun, could not really talk with that bar music pumping so loud...and was a bit overwhelmed by the VOICE...)

SO now I am sitting in an internet cafe. enjoying the last few minutes in Amsterdam before I have to get back on the train in half an hour.

So, I need to bridge three weeks and I need cheap tips how to stay focussed and get me out of this depression shit.

When there's a will, there's a way. I'm confident you'll be able arrange your return to Amsterdam. It really sounds like Paris has nothing left to offer you. Find yourself a good book or watch some movies, maybe that'll distract you from the slow march of days in the next few weeks as you wait this out...

[b]I was in Amsterdam a couple of months ago. It is amazing. When you say, all you want form life is in Amsterdam, do you mean all you're interested in is hash?? Because that's what the city runs on!

[b]Honest to god, when I went there I assumed the reputation Amsterdam has was exagerated, but it's not! I think it's fair to say out of every 3 buildings - one is a hash bar and another is a sex shop. The smell of hash is everywhere! I never saw one person in a suit, or saw one office block!

You really, really, really got the wrong impression of what Amsterdam is all about. It´s a shame, next time you are here, go and see the nice neighbourhoods like the Jordaan, de Pijp, Zuid, Vondelpark. It´s real nice overthere and won´t be run over every 5 seconds by a group of drunk/drugged/horny group of tourists.

It's funny, I know the rep the city has, and I think it's deserving in some ways, but there is SO much more to Amsterdam than sex and drugs...In fact, the last 2 times I was there, I didn't even smoke weed once! I really like this town...

But tha last time I went I found some great
second hand record shops, and bought a load
of rare stuff.

For staying focussed I recommend you to work on your cv and
surch the net for some good jobs !!

amsterdam is a fun town for sure. but those canals smell kinda not so good in hot weather.
