Simpler to just kick the cat. I can't blame her for not picking up the dog as she was probably afraid of getting bitten or scratched by the cat.

Just kick the sh*t out of the cat next time, that's what I'd do. (Note to over-sensitive cat-lovers: The same advice would apply to any kind of animal that attacked that dog, whether it was another dog, or a rat, or a Shetland pony. Just kick it. Don't risk getting bitten by an animal that could hurt you or give you a disease like rabies.)

You assume that kicking the cat would keep her from getting bitten or scratched. That's silly. I'm not in favor of kicking the shit out of a cat unless there was no other way to escape. He was clearly surprised by the dog and did what cats do to defend themselves. Im not going to hurt him for being a cat unless there was no alternative.

1. Pick the damn dog up.

2. Run inside the store and shut the damn door.

3. Did you even watch the whole video? She swung the poor dog around and around by the neck from his leash.....you okay with that?

4. Then she ended up dropping the dog and leaving him there to fend for himself.....is that okay too?

5. Both she and the dog would have stood a much better chance if she had picked him up and ran inside the shop or even down the street.

6. I hope you don't own any pets. disbelief

I know, right? I would rather risk the wrath of a pussy cat than leave an itty bitty dog to face it alone. Just pick the dog up and run.

Poor dog is all tramatized. It gets chased by a cat for being lead into whereever that was, gets slung in the air by it's leash several times literally being choked possible knocked into the car or that lamp post then gets tossed off like a bag of garbage to deal with a pissed off cat while it's trying to get its own footing. Poor baby. Heck imagine if that was a baby.

Of COURSE I watched all 38 seconds of that opus! All your answers are wrong in my opinion, here's why:

1. Pick the damn dog up. There is a possibly rabid cat biting and clawing the dog throughout the video. What - were you going to make the "time out" sign and expect the cat to give you a chance to pick up the dog? Your hindsight is 20/20 but when that was happening, the dog owner had no way to know when the cat was going to attack, and when it wasn't. The cat never stopped - not even when the dog owner let go of the leash. Heck, then the cat REALLY went to town. Your advice #1 is the WORST advice you could give

2. Run inside the store and shut the damn door. That's where it looks like the cat came from! And like I said, the cat was in constant attack mode. I very highly doubt the dog owner could have got into the store without the cat following. And if that cat DID come from the store, I'm pretty sure the store owner would have raised holy heck about THEIR cat getting literally kicked to the curb. This piece of advice (run into the store) is clearly unworkable and bad

3. Did you even watch the whole video? She swung the poor dog around and around by the neck from his leash.....you okay with that? WTF?!? Why in the Sam Hill would you think that I'm OK with the dog owner swinging the dog around by its neck? What kind of drugs are you on?!? My whole position was that the dog owner's reaction was the wrong thing to do. Lay off the crack pipe

4. Then she ended up dropping the dog and leaving him there to fend for himself.....is that okay too? OK, I get it. Maybe you're not high, you just like to fight about stuff. The logical conclusions that you leap to are truly mind-boggling. I would have thought a Steelers fan like you would be in a GOOD mood afdter yesterday's victory but I guess some people are just never happy

5. Both she and the dog would have stood a much better chance if she had picked him up and ran inside the shop or even down the street. Well sure - IF she had known her dog was about to be surprised-attacked by a maniacal cat. But for all the reasons above, we can see how your 20/20 armchair quarterbacking just wouldn't work in the real world, which seems to be a place you have little to no experience in. Sorry, but it seems true

6. I hope you don't own any pets. disbelief Clearly I am a far better pet owner than you could ever hope to be. All my advice centered around what I would do to SAVE MY PET. Your advice? It would get your pet injured or killed, and it would get you bitten and scratched. It appears from reading your screed that you actually do not own any pets, or have never been in any kind of situation that requires quick and decisive thinking. Or probably both.

You doth protest too much and display your usual feeble grasp of reality.

If the cat came out of the shop I doubt they'd let it hang around there if it was rabid.

I protest too much? I'm not the one that came up with 5 points to rebut a one-line piece of advice, and then threw in a 6th point that was nothing but personal. No, that's all on you, sweetcheeks.

Again, you have clearly never been in any situation that called for quick and decisive thinking. All your advice is bad and all your conclusions are wrong. But I'm not too surprised, TBH.

You sound like a cat abusing coward.

I have personally dealt with a hissing, spitting, growlilng kitty who was crazed with fear inside of my house. My husband and I managed to capture it a after a few scratches and return him to his owner un-kicked.

You just get salty every time your know-it-all persona gets challenged.

Wow, have YOU lived a sheltered life! A kitty kat?!? LMFAO. But OK, let's break down your act of heroism in what I call:

BABYNOZ AND HER HUSBAND VS. A SCARED KITTY KAT

First, your kitty cat was only hissing, spitting and growling at you. It didn't ATTACK you. And yet you STILL got SCRATCHED when all it did was DEFEND itself. That is not quite the same kind of kitty cat that went apesh*t on the dog. Although we cannot be 100% sure, it's highly unlikely that the dog in the video did anything to provoke the cat. It was just being a dog on a walk and clearly was not looking for a fight. That cat was not defending itself, it was in attack mode. The fact that you cannot tell the difference between defense and attack is indicative of your lack of experience in situations that call for quick and decisive action.

Second, it was you AND YOUR HUSBAND. I'm guessing he did all the heavy lifting and yet YOU still got scratched. Compare your injuries suffered in a situation in which: (A) your kitty was not in attack mode; and (2) you had a big strong man to take the lead, VS. the poor woman who was all by herself and facing a cat in attack mode. Again - you think your situation is anything at all like the woman in video's? Apples and oranges sweetcheeks and again - it shows that you just don't know what you're talking about (no surprise, TBH).

I don't mind getting challenged, and honestly didn't care at all about your first response to me until you: (A) made assumptions that I was OK with what the dog went through; and (B) went personal on my qualifications as a pet owner.

You're right, I'm salty. That's on you, not me. If you can't handle it when people call you on your BS, then you should keep your BS to yourself. A good piece of advice that you should consider immediately following is:

When you're in a hole, quit digging.

Or probably both.

wtf dude... seriously

so your dog is on a leash and you're trying to kick a cat that is chasing your dog?...what a mess... what if you miss and kick your dog?

you pick your dog up and it's safe ... end of story... you can then either get away or deal with the damn cat

Yeah, seriously. If you miss and kick the dog then my advice is don't try sports because you won't be good at it.

another way to deal with angry cat defense is to use a blanket or a coat, toss it over the animal's head and bundle it up quick. this is how i get injured animals off the road and to the wildlife rehabilitation center.

works on snapping turtles who are in the middle of the road, and worked on the hawk that was trapped in our underground parking lot at work. used my shirt to cover its head.

hmm anything much bigger than a cat or hawk, probably best to keep ones clothes on for protection. lol
