Wouldn't a natural remedy have an affect on other things beyond returning your hair to it's natural color?

No, it isn't. Men aren't any different when it comes to this stuff - some are fine going gray, others agonize over it and reach for the bottle (of hair color).

You can't really reverse or stop grey hair. Some limited evidence that vitamin B12 can help. I wouldn't bet on it though.

I went gray in the temples about 10 years ago. Not a lot, mainly in the bottom of my sideburns. But my wife was on me for years to color it. Not me! I was going to look "distinguished"!

But one day I was at my barber's and on a lark asked him if he had any Just For Me. He did, and we decided to have an experiment. We would color the gray out of my hair, and see how long it took my wife to notice.

After we were done, I looked in the mirror. I thought I was 10 years younger! I said, "My wife will notice this IMMEDIATELY!"

I drove down to our beach condo, where my wife and in-laws were, and walked in.

Nothing.

No one said a thing! I couldn't believe it.

I was sitting in a chair that had a round base, and I leaned back a little too far. I fell completely backwards. BOOM! My wife came over and said, "Are you OK?"

I was, but I said, "My head hurts a little. Especially here and here", and I pointed right at the two sides of my temple that had been colored. "What do you think?" She said she was glad I was alright. WTH?!?

So I stood up and said, "Look at me. Do you notice anything different about me?"

My wife looked me over for a minute and said, "Is that a new shirt?"



I'm not sure she EVER would have noticed, but I said, "No! I got my hair painted!"

MORAL: Coloring the gray out will make you feel good, but probably no one else is going to notice. Which, if you think about it, is PERFECT!

Well, in Chinese medicine, greying hair means a weakness from within, the kidney meridian, blood deficiency...etc, Apparently by taking the stuff for hair, it improves overall health, and vitality. I'm trying black sesame and chlorophyll. I guess 42 is an age that some go grey. I can't accept yet that I won't be forever young. Lol!! [Edited 1/4/17 18:50pm]

Well let us know how it goes. Me, I get scared trying things these days with no understanding how it's supposed to work. Working to keep your hair from turning grey and end up making your teeth fall out isn't a fair trade to me.

Hahahahahaha, that's a great story rodeo! And it's true, you don't want people to notice these types of things, it should look "natural".

I don't mind the greys. It's the new pubelike texture that's off-putting. A head full of sleek, shiny hair and then the appearance of sproingy, pubey pokey outies. It ain't right. Same here--not many grey hairs but they stand at attention like a row of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have also heard rehmania(sp), helps.

I have been going grey since I was 24 (on the sides mostly). Now I am 34 and its about 40% grey now. I have been dying it for about ten years. i dyed it mostly not for me, but to stop all of the attention paid to my hair!! Working in the public I would CONSTANTLY get questioned about my grey hair and WHY do I have grey hair at such a young age. Having to constantly explain or talk about it everyday is very tedious. If you find the reversal please let me know.

*Currently I am leaving it and growing it out naturally to see what it looks like. To be honest...I am getting asked less about it and turning into a silver daddy may not be that bad lol.

I say, dye it till youre comfortable!

By the way, my personal opinion is that NO GRAY BEARD LOOKS GOOD - EVER. (Go ahead, post pictures of Sean Connery.)

If one is not totally gray, and one's beard/Van Dyke/whatever IS gray, I think that looks bad. Paint it! Nothing looks worse than a gray beard, IMHO.
