....right, so, it's a given fact that 90% of Hollywood output (TV/movies) are aimed at teenagers and the college crowd. Given that most of us here are getting on in years - some of us are the wrong side of the big four-oh,......what are we supposed to watch? It really doesn't become a 40+ guy or girl to watch teenage love stories, or spaceships n aliens or whatever, much as we would like to hold on to our youth and tell ourselves we're still young. Are we just supposed to die after we hit 30 or so?

The only thing *I*, personally, can think of, is 2 and a Half Men, which was Really Fun, but a bit too much for even ME at times - and that is now long dead. After all the explosion of online content - Youtube etc. ,.... has anyone bothered making anything for us? Can anyone point me to anything? (and please, no documentaries or "educational TV" or anything like that (sorry xxaxx ), as I said, we're not Dead!!! )

these, except i might transpose 'the wire' and 'the sopranos' as what's best; although both weaken through their final seasons. i've watched the complete series' of each 3 times. i haven't watched 'sherlock', but based on emma's good taste i'd likely give it a shot.

barring those, what's wrong with m*a*s*h? it's on all the time and is, in my opinion, the best television ever produced.

also worth checking out might be 'fleabag'. very funny/tragic kind of modern feminist dramatic twist kind of thing.

'the get down' on netflix was pretty good. it started stronger than it finished, but worthwhile.

'the expanse' on the syfy network is really good. epic sci-fi space opera. i'd recommend turning off the tv and reading the books as a more fulfilling option, but it's there.

'mr. robot', of course...this and 'fleabag' are really good examples of how to tell stories in the modern age of binge watching; taking full advantage of the medium and viewing habits of their audiences.

bottom line, if you can't find something worth watching, you're not trying hard enough.

Tried "Hell on Wheels", but started getting depressed I watch enough shows where my favorites get killed.
Did "Longmire" for a while, got bored.
Was a big fan of "Bones" for a while until they hooked up.

I noticed I don't watch any comedies anymore. I really liked Community, Parks & Recreation when I saw them.


Not too crazy about American detective shows but I like the British ones go figure.
