Steelers have no one to blame but themselves. They didn't do the little things right (dropped passes) & WFAN's Mike Francesca just hammered the coaches for their defensive approach - they played pass defense like they were scared. They should have watched film of the Texans game.
Steelers have the talent to beat the Patriots. Yes there were dropped passes, mostly by the young WR's. Don't forget Wheaton and Bryant were not in the game. The fact is Belichick and his coaching staff is better than Mike Tomlin and his staff. Even when Brady was out the Patriots were still winning unlike when Landry Jones took over when Ben was out. Imagine what Belichick could do if he had Ben, Brown, and Bell on his team. [Edited 1/23/17 15:35pm] |

For the life of me I cannot fathom why we didn't make defensive changes in the second half. My son kept asking why the hell they stuck with zone defense?
Game was winnable but like I keep saying, we need to focus and play all four quarters, not three.
You said a mouthful. Me and my Steelers friends during and after the game why stay in a zone defense. Brady picked us apart. Who the fuck is Chris Hogan? We couldn't even cover a no name receiver. I was more worried about Edelmen and Dion Lewis. We didn't have to worry about Gronk. Losing Bell early in the 1st quarter changed the complexion of the Steelers offense because that allowed Belicheck to take away the Steelers biggest weapon on the field Brown. Looks like Ben and Jesse James were the only guys on offense that came to play. We need to junk the 3-4 defense against Brady because that shit hasn't worked. Need to pressure Brady up the middle and make him move. The Steelers have to continue to upgrade on defense. The offense gets Martavius Bryant back next year and should be loaded. This guy is a poor man's Randy Moss who can blow the top off of defenses.

Wheaton is no better than the young receivers the Steelers have now. Wheaton will not be resigned.
Haley isn't a bad OC but I'm starting to see Bruce Arians tendencies all over again which makes me wonder if Ben has a hand in some of these dumb ass calls. 3rd and 1 and Ben is chunking the ball 50 yards down field to Sammie Coates. Pick up the damn first down and then if you want to play action on first down and take a shot down field then use that option. The defense still has holes in the secondary. Mike Mitchell is nothing more than a statue who goes for the big hit and nothing else. Ross Cockrell would be good as a 3rd corner but not a starter. Burns and Sean Davis are coming on but still rookies who were gonna get schooled by Brady. Don't laugh at my funk

The refs called no penalties through what, 2.5 quarters? They were letting them play. Why not go man and make the receivers beat your cover guys?
The answer PIT might give is that Pittsburgh's secondary has been a mess for a while now, pretty much ever since Polomalu went into decline. They need to fix it. They've got pieces to build around on the front seven (Shazier, Tuitt) but they are really having issues filling all the holes.

C'mon - Brady himself said it's the fans and his team that help
I know everyone hates them and I totally love busting everyone's balls about it. I hated Peyton Manning for years, I get it. The rivalries are fun and I just really love the game. I don't keep up on all the teams like I used to (I blame marriage) but at the end of the day....it's a game. I hope WE win the superbowl, but I'm not going to cry in my Cheerios if we don't. And I'm not going to go looking for something (like deflated balls) to blame it on!
Tom Brady = GOAT!!!!!! Yes yes yes!!!
Tom Brady ain't no damn GOAT! The GOAT doesn't lose 2 Super Bowls to the same team.

Yeah I think Wheaton won't be back because of Hamilton and Rogers. I think Haley is the best coach on the staff of the Steelers. |

Looks like Steelers might have to draft a QB in next draft. Ben unsure about coming back for 2017 season. If he does come back I think it will be his last season. Regardless Steelers need to draft a QB in the next draft. |

He's one of the few players in football to be able to use his leverage for change.
I am WILDLY speculating here, but I would think that the holes on defense make his job harder. Also wildly speculating, he's had to deal with key weapons who have all gotten themselves into serious issues this season -- Bell (drug suspension), Bryant (drug suspension) and Brown (Facebook Live). That and the hits he's taken over a decade have got to wear on him.
I think he wants some changes from the front office and coaching staff or he's ready to bounce.

Yes!!!!!!!!! And that's what every sports columnist is going to write about. Hey let's not forget about his age and health. It's very possible if he won the Super Bowl this year he would have retire as well and nobody would question that figuring that Ben wanted to end on a high note. [Edited 1/24/17 13:03pm] |

The Steelers were my "first love" as a sports fan. Watching them in the 70's inspired me to play the sport myself. I generally root for them though I've spent most of my life as a Washington fan . . . and most of that time in misery.

Well like the old Kleeer song Winners,Winners never quit and Quitters never win. I'm sure it's frustrating to get this close and not even be competitive in the AFC title game but don't deflect blame talk to the players and coaches and owners to see what needs to be done to take the next step. As far as Bell go he and an improved defense may be Ben's best chance to win the Super Bowl. Those young receivers will continue to grow meanwhile Bryant comes back. Remember if it wasn't for Terrell Davis we wouldn't be mentioning John Elway among the all time greats. Don't laugh at my funk

I would.....Elway put those Denver teams on his back and took them to Super Bowls. Thing was, those teams were mediocre and at that time, the NFC was the dominant conference. Can't blame Elway for that.
As for Pittsburgh, I've been listening to WFAN sports talk radio all day. Many Steeler callers are unhappy with Tomlin and his inability to adjust on defense.

Tuitt is not shabby but Ryan Shazier is the real stud on that defense. He makes alll the calls and
blows plays up in the middle. Tuitt didn't get any pressure on Brady sunday. Meanwhile the one thing that was good about the defense on Sunday was Shazier blowing up Dion Lewis whenever he touched the ball. Lewis was a non factor Sunday. Don't laugh at my funk

'
John Elway said himself before his Broncos were obliterated in the Super Bowl by the 49ers
55-10 that he knows he won't be considered a great qb until he wins one. There was nothing
mediocre about the 1989 Broncos they just like the rest of the league were no match for the
49ers period. The Broncos would have kicked any other team from the NFC in the ass for the Super Bowl that season. The 49ers smashed the Vikings 41-13 and then the Rams 30-3 for the NFC title
so it wasn't that the Broncos were horrible they just weren't any match for the 49ers like the rest of
the league. That Broncos team was very good. Don't laugh at my funk
