Why are men allowed to sleep around,while a woman should be all innocent and virginal and when a woman does it she's a hoe? Even if a woman has had more then two partners a man would look down on her, excuse me but ain't this what you call a double standard? Men can get away with murder while women pratically get stoned to death for one minor sin

I think U just answered your own question Lisa. If men can't deal with women asserting themselves and taking what they want when they want it then they have some serious issues with their ego.

I look at someone’s past relationships in the same way I see there character. I don’t care where you came from, what you’ve done, who you’ve slept with, or how many. What’s important is the here and now.

As long as a women is faithful I have 100% respect. I once made out with a girl at a party. She was beautiful and I felt so damn lucky. After about 30mins she told me she had a boyfriend, so I told her to piss off back to him. If she’d told me she’d had 50 boyfriends before but she was single there and then I wouldn’t of cared.

I believe that this so-called "double standard" exists for 2 reasons:

1. The "biology rationale" that men are "hard-wired" to "plant their seed" in as many females as possible. Many people simply use this rationale & say "well, that's how men are.."

2. Some sort of "societal fear" (or really, a fear of men?) that a woman who is very "sexually active & aggressive" could be seen as a "threat" to society.. so, to discourage women who are very intelligent AND very attractive.. "society" determined: "well, you can't be an intelligent, attractive woman & have as much sex as you want with whomever"..
it seems that such a woman would be perceived as having.. "too much power"..


I've never understood why anyone- male or female- would want to have so many partners (other than, maybe, to brag about the number). It's been repeated by men for who knows how long- expressed in different ways, I'll put it here as:

"there is the type of woman you want to spend the night with,
&
the type of woman you want to spend the rest of your life with"

by the time any person- again, male or female- gets to the age of socializing & dating- let's say.. 16 years (that's a BARE minimum) they have an idea about which type they want to be.

Sometimes it happens where a man will meet & be into a "for the evening" woman, & then that develops into a "lifetime" thing..

but because a lot of men can have sex "just for the sex of it".. they either know where/how to find those "for the evening types" OR they know.. um.. what to say to a woman, they know how to "play the game" long enough to get what they want & then.. split..


Couldn't it be said that, while she was "single".. Madonna surpassed this so-called "double standard"?
