FLONASE

It is a cortisone nose spray.

You can buy it over the counter at COSTCO, or you can buy the equivalent over the counter at WALMART.

Be careful not to over use it though, or get it in your eyes because it can cause blindness if used incorrectly.

Use allergy relief eye drops.

You can buy those over the counter at WALMART

Also, do not use Kleenex tissues to blow your nose.

Use 100% cotton handkerchiefs.

Make sure that they are clean.

Wash your hands frequently.

Bathe and wash your hair in the evening, but make sure that your hair is dry before you go to bed.

Buy a new pillow.

Bought 2 new pillows (and a bed). Why wash hair in evening?

Because your hair is like a filter.

Stuff that is floating in the air, like pollen, or dust sticks to your hair.

If you don't wash your hair at the end of the day, you end up breathing that stuff all night.

Also, you should always wear a dust mask whenever you are sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, doing yard work, etc.

i have food allergies and suffered for years before a diagnosis was made. avoiding those foods has really turned things around for me. it's interesting how our bodies work. an undiagnosed food allergy can show up in many different ways...

for other types of allergies using a humidifier can help, cleaning frequently can help, and lifestyle changes in general can also be beneficial. for example, avoid jobs with particulates and chemicals floating around such as print shops and such.

personally, i don't recommend using drugs to combat allergies, since this can have long-term effects on one's body over the years.

long-term use of any pharmaceutical/drug is never a good way to solve a health problem.

hope you are feeling better rose

WayneDaStar

glad I came across this post!

i have allergies as well. The most common thing that affects me usually is dogs. The worst part about it is that, when my allergies act up, it triggers my asthma and that's the worst part. The allergies don't usually bother me that much.

I try to clean normally because I do have a dog, so I am constantly vacuuming, etc. The washing the hair thing is new to me. It makes total sense though because there are times when I clean my sheets and when I goto bed and wake up, I have shortness of breath and I'm wondering what the heck happened???

So I guess i do need to get new pillows!

u got me under the influence.
