Who here watches Turner Classic Movies? I've been introduced to many classics with this channel. Could be the best channel on cable besides maybe HBO. All you others say Hell Yea!!

until Foxtel dropped it on 13 December totally pissing me off The last film I watched was the original Oceans 11 (1960). We had the Asian Pacific version so the programming is different to the American one.....but I still loved it and watched alot of films that are not available on dvd/blu ray in Australia eg. some films of Jean Harlow. Foxtel says that Fox Classics will take up where TCM left off....but I doubt it because they don't screen classic films 24/7. [Edited 12/18/16 13:10pm] Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

:yeahthat: For years TCM was by far my favorite channel on TV. But then in 2010 I bought an HD television (yeah, late adopter) and this being almost the only channel not embracing the technology we slowly drifted apart. Now in the last year or so it would appear they've finally started to care deeply about building their 21st century legacy: new 1080i scans of most of their movies, mobile apps for streaming, heavy presence on social media, new hosts (one male, one female; love Robert Osborne but he isn't going to be around forever), and much more that has slowly reinvigorated my spirit.

TCM is the place to go to when you wanna see the classic Black & White flicks...It's the only Network that plays the Classic Jesus Movies for X-Mas...

I don't know if TCM plays the same movies in America as it does here in Ireland but sometimes over here they show some great movies. For example, the other night they were showing Police Story 3. For those who don't know, the Police Story movies are Jackie Chan's crowning achievement. I would advise any fan of action movies to watch the Police Story series. TCM sometimes shows part 3 and 4, which are really good but for me, the first two are the best.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

My biggest issue with cutting the cable cord and going to all streaming has been how to get TCM. (You need a cable subscription to use the TCM app - and you can't stream from that to your TV.) But if I have Filmstruck, I won't need it. [Edited 12/19/16 8:42am] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I saw the Ben Hur remake on PPV..It was very rushed..They cut corners to make the story move faster. Morgan Freeman was good in the supporting role but he did not help carry the flick to the finish line. Definitely not a memorable leading cast.....The flick lasted for 2hrs, the original version is 3hrs/30min....I'm watching the original again...

Morgan Freeman is always good even when the movie he's in is bad. He's probably the most underrated actor in Hollywood.

This is a great video tribute that makes me ashamed I don't watch as many films as I could.

I LOOOVE TCM. It's how I discovered and fell in love with so many films from different eras. I like when they do theme days, like a whole day of Lauren Bacall films, or marathon of campy 60's sci-fi If you will, so will I

Maybe TCM is a little different in the UK. Just put it on and 'The Fugitive' from '93 is on. Doesn't seem that old to me. How time flies.

i love classic movies but have consolidated my viewing to amazon prime. for movies that aren't already included in prime, one can usually rent movies on other channels for a small fee.
