CAPS no caps or MiXeD? I'm doing a study on thread title effectiveness and desperately need your input.
If you were faced with a forum made up of threads of equal quality, what would be the most attractive choice.. and why? CAPS no caps MiXeD ? Also which of the icons above would best catch your attention? Please explain why. Document Arrow Question Mark Exclamation Point Box of Kleenex Cool guy with sunglasses Smiley Red (anger) Blue (is that one for sadness? He looks more blue with rage than sad) Red mouth (I've never figured that one. Looks like cunilingus or whatever you call that heterosexual staple.) Red guy with his mouth open (Is he shouting?) Winky Thumbs Down (why we don't have this as an emoticon is incomprehensible. Think of all the typing and reading it would save. ) Thumbs Up Ditto Thanks for helping _ _ _ [This message was edited Fri Apr 4 15:21:52 PST 2003 by Aerogram]

Ex-Moderator | I prefer no caps. Much more soothing to the eye.
And I've always liked the guy with the "o" mouth. I just think he's cute. BTW- I'm so excited I can be a part of such a meaningful and prestigious study. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. |

Probably the person (or people) who started the thread(s) that I find most interesting.

That's not within the scope of our study, but I'll be happy to pass on the information.

That's not within the scope of our study, but I'll be happy to pass on the information. Eh? You mean it's not the answer you were looking for, which isn't necessarily the same thing. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

That's not within the scope of our study, but I'll be happy to pass on the information. Eh? You mean it's not the answer you were looking for, which isn't necessarily the same thing. Just being facetiously scientific. In a way, you sort of answered the question by saying another factor matters more. I certainly agree that the author of the thread is more important than how the title looks. Still, I'm interested in what works best. Since you guys won't provide the statistical mass needed to validate my hypothesis, I have turned to the archives and compared the variables to the number of replies and views. The results are rather ing.

Funny someone with the most famous mixcapped name of the Org should be so undecided. [This message was edited Sat Apr 5 11:56:59 PST 2003 by Aerogram]

You're a nocapper and don't use icons often. I never noticed your minimalism before.
