Question about Amazon Prime

If I order something while my prime membership is active and it doesn't come out until April but my membership runs out in February. If I choose not to renew my membership will I still get the item in april if I'm not a member anymore? Even though i ordered the item while I was still a prime member. I'm wondering if I will still get the item but I'll have to pay shipping fees

Interesting: I think what may happen is if you do not renew you will get a notice that the order's status has changed and any discounts (including free shipping) will not be applied to the order. They may also cancel the order or make you confirm the new cost.

nice: they could easily put a clause in the agreement to Prime that would not do that... good that they do. And many times for some items like video games they give a nice discount if you preorder.

Interesting question. I'd think you would receive the Prime benefits on any order placed while you are still a member. But when membership expires, then not so much. I don't really know.

Have you been charged and paid for the item? If you've paid the item will be shipped at no additional cost. In most instances (unless the seller and Amazon have spoken) when items are to mailed out that much later, Amazon doesn't charge your account till the item is shipped. You should ask Amazon.

Yes, but a lot of pre-orders aren't billed until they're actually available, which means if their orders charges after Prime expires, they won't get 2-day. That happened when I ordered Prince. I wasn't charged until the order was processed & shipped.

Also to the OP, you can order Prime by the month now ($11.99) if you don't happen to have enough for the $99 a year. It's a bit more overall if you pay per month, but more manageable for some folks. You get the full benefits of Prime, but just pay monthly.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
